A Pleasant Surprise

WE booked 5 days and extended a couple more just so we could relax at the resort and enjoy the friendly staff and amenities offered in the all inclusive package. The staff works very hard and still manage to maintain great attitudes . There was never a lack of food or drink and the room service morning and evening didn't take as long as we expected it too. As an older couple we were not sure what impact kids would have on us but for the most part if anything their presence kept the place from being to quiet or boring . The south tower is where the activities center with more action at the pools and bar and the north tower is the quieter area with another pool and hot tub. Overall the noise levels in the evening dimmed around 10-11. The lobby offered WIFi internet and two computers for guests use, we took advantage of both since we brought two laptops and the atmpsphere during the evenings in the lobby was intriguing because of the diverisity of guests lounging and relating the days events. We could name our favorite employees in all areas such as the bar, buffet, room service, bellman, and front desk, suffice it ti say they all excelled in making the stay enjoyable with so many usefull tips, suggestions and helpfull advice every day. Be sure to eat at La Veranda or you will be missing out on the best dining on the island and take a camera with you because the food looks as good as it tastes but be sure to get your seating reservations early seating is limited to allow better service for you. I would suggest a car for a couple days , do the island hotspots then enjoy the resort.

MUST BE GOOD, WE KEEP GOING BACK!!!!

Just spent 7 days/6 nights at the El Coz and can't wait to return. We have been there 4 or 5 times and can't say enough about the Staff and the service for the price. This is not billed as a luxury resort and you shouldn't expect world class food, liquor or bedding. But you can expect to be treated like it is. The staff works so hard to make your vacatoin the best it can be. You can order from the menu, have room service or eat at the buffet. The reservations only restaurant is one of our favs and we try to dine there serveral times during our stay. You do have to 'dress' for the occasion but we find that to be fun. This last trip a live band played two nights and that was a lot of fun. If there is something you would like, ask (nicely)!!!! They will usually try to accomodate. Do wish they would add champagne to the drink menu so I could have Mimosas in the moring. THE FRONT DESK , THANKS AGAIN FOR THE MEMORIES. Sorry for cobbling your names. If diving is a part of your plans, the dive shop at the resort (Ocean Tours/Scuba Du) do a great job. GREAT JOB. Counting the days till fall when we plan to come back.

Good room, good location, good staff, good price

We stayed there for 6 days. The room was very nice, larger than expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel's beach appeared to be one of the nicer hotel beaches based on our misc. wanderings. No real negatives. Most of the food is on a large buffet, so you can't expect 5-star dining. It was good, with lots of variety. Since our package costs no more than many hotels without food and drink included, the food is like a bonus. We found the beds very firm, but comfortable. No problems sleeping after a day in the sun. Be aware that all inclusive means food and drinks, but not other activities like scuba or snorkling tours. The hotel does provide snorkle equipment for use off their beach, which is OK, but not spectacular. Since this trip to Cozumel costs about half of many Caribbean trips, who cares. Stay here and buy other tours.

Beautiful & Romantic Getaway!

Just returned home and had to write a review! Very clean, friendly, sweet staff that really seem to enjoy their jobs! Food was good and well presented!!! Just enough change with theme nights and shows to make the good food seem better! Some of the food choices were great! We don't drink and were happy to find water and virgin drinks not a problem. Do not think there is a bad view from this hotel... just beautiful ocean views. Swimming pools were big and never felt crowded. Great kids areas and programs! Hamacks on beach were so relaxing! Special events and good snorkeling from the beach. When we needed a change Chankanab Park was incredible and only a 20 minute drive... great food and incredible snorkeling there! We will return to Cozumel and this hotel! Only negative was the work out room... all the equipment was hilarious! Good thing we were on vacation in a place where working out outside was easy!

Everyone on staff is absolutely amazing, always so friendly.. Room service is super quick. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were wonderful. The entertainment was really fun to watch. The beds are seriously hard...BUT you are so worn out from so much fun that you sleep some anyway. If you book water adventures yourself, alot of boats are not alowed to dock at the hotel pier, even to drop you off. I would recommend over and over.. great place. gina
