Families flock to The Zoo, Navarre’s wildlife refuge that plays home to hundreds of species from around the world. Primates, large cats, bears and ostrich roam these grounds, as do friendly giraffes (which you can feed!). Aquatic wildlife is in full display at nearby Fort Walton Beach’s Gulfarium, where trained dolphins and sea lions perform daily. And if you’d rather see dolphins in their own habitat, take a cruise on Boogie’s Glass Bottom Boat Tours.

If you don’t have your sea legs just yet, a calming Nature Walk through Navarre Park may be the thing for you. This coast-line path features a spring-fed pond, stocked with fish and waterfowl, and leads to the popular Butterfly House, where thousands of butterflies live among lush local flora.
