Just a few minor things unhappy with but overall a very nice property and a wonderful staff. Had a great vacation and will go back.

We just got back from Cancun for a large family vacation/celebration. We had10 young adults rangeing in age from 17 - 26 with 4 adults along. The hotel was great for everyone with plenty of entertainment. There were some young children at the hotel but not so much that it was a bother. The food could have been better and would have like a bar closer to the beach so we would have such a long walk but that was a small price to pay for a great time.
Good Value but would consider 3 star not 4

My husband and I went on a last minute get away and the reviews of the GR solaris were really great. I was surprised upon check in when we met with the Concierge that we were told different colored bands meant different travel arrangements and that is we had booked throught the hotel itself and not online we would have been upgraded to an ocean view room at no extra charge and would have recieved up graded liquors at the bars. The rooms were nice and had great views and house keeping was great. The food was good, Marco Polo restaurant was our least favorite-service always friendly and accomodating. The pool was made of pebbles and the 1st day my husband tore up his heel getting into the water, i have several scrapes on my feet and leggs, be careful. The beach was very nice beautiful white sand-but vendors are constanltly going up and down the beach trying to sell you jewelry and hairbraids, a little annoying. Time share people everywhere but they did not bother us once we said no. Over all good experience but would probably try a different hotel next trip.

Hotel need more life at the looby, Food need to be more quality at the buffet. We had a great time, the beds are hard as a rock, other than the buffet food it was a 4 stars all the way. make sure you participate at all pool activities, the Dinner Shows were great. We stayed at many places in Cancun and GR Solaries was the best, with the exeption of the Buffet Food. Breakfast was the best time at the buffet. Staff were great anything that we requested starting with a dozen eggs white (hard boiled) asked once and then every morning they had it ready for me. Thank you for making our vacation enjoyable.
fun time had by all.

we had so much fun we already booked for next year same time. Last year we stayed at the Royal Solaris and while the Royal has more restaurants the GR was just as nice. My biggest complaint was it was a hotel room and not a one bedroom like I am accustomed to but it was fine. We had friends from Scotland with us who had never been to Mexico and really enjoyed themselves.
The entertainment staff were awesome. I had a tear in my eye when we hugged to say good bye. I brought with me a 13 y.o. boy with an appetite like I don't know what so this place was perfect. We never went to the buffet for breakfast we ordered full breakfast room service every morning. Lunch we ate at the pool, once I ate at Rosmarinus but I love the pools burgers and fries so that was good for me. Dinner once at Maro Polo, I was not impressed, they said Mexican and it was more flank steak and pork chops, but still very tasty. I don't normally do the buffets but did so this trip and was quite pleasantly surprised. There was a different theme every night but always Hamburgers, hot dogs and pasta for the picky eater. Around 7 a.m. people were getting up & going out for breakfast and they were talking so loud woke me up right out of a dead sleep. Not happy with that. Beds were not that comfortable but wasn't too big of a deal.
All in all we had a great time. Can't wait to go back.
