My family and I have stayed at many resorts in Cancun. Some may look better visually but none are the total package that is the GR Solaris (even the two other sister hotels in cancun). This is my sixth stay at the GR Solaris. There is a wide range of food at their buffet dinning options. You will find that the quality may vary dish to dish and day to day. The food can be rated excellent to just okay. The speciality dinning options tend to serve the higher quality dishes (requires reservations at 8 am outside the Marco Polo). However at one time, the Marco Polo was very classy and they had zero tolerance towards loud / rude individuals and families. They would actually make these people behave and learn manners and be respectful. But not this time. The resort has always been family orientated. However it seems that they are taking it to another level with their kids club by keeping the kids away from the adults just want to have fun or relax. The entertainment staff was great like always. However in past years they played more of a variety of music. Whenever "Ruskii" was in controll, the same 5 european dance (rave) music was played over and over again with no change all day. The pools are very nice and they have a great swim up bar which people perch themselves and binge drink with out ever leaving the pool all morning, day, and early evening (At least these pools are chemically cleaned).
