This hotel is great for the price. Staff was very nice but all the people we came in contact with in Cancun were friendly. The restaurant is O.K and the service is great. The hotel is on the most beautiful stretch of beach in all of Cancun. The sand is like tan sugar. I can't wait to go back and I will definetly stay here again!

Do Not Waste Your Money or Time - Horrible Resort!

The Solymar Resort was falsely advertised and highly misleading (BEWARE!); the staff did not help with the luggage; the lobby's ceiling was missing panels exposing pipes and wires; the rooms were full of molded and mildew and had an indescribable and overwhelming stench; the bedspread had numerous stains and holes; the customer service was below poor; we literally had to beg for toilet paper, wash cloths and towels and if we were lucky enough to get them, they were worn and dingy brown. This by far was the worse vacation I have ever experienced!

Visited: 7/13 - 7/18. The room was large with a balcony but smelled like mildew. I had mole growing in the bathroom. Towels were not white they were grey. The only thing included in your all inclusive package is food. Everything is destroyed because of the Hurricane. No tennis. ONE restaurant. Horrible food. Don't stay it is not worth the money. You were warned. No phones, no room service,

Our experience at Solymar was awful. The hotel was under construction,,,and still they were renting rooms while workers pounded and hammerd all day long. The rooms were not clean. Bed spread looked like it had not been washed in years...the phone did not work...it was just a horrible experience...hallways had the ceiling completly exposed, wires hanging out...dirty...never again.

nice hotel

Not much damage from the hurricane. Staff was helpfull. Room is not too fancy but large. It also had a little balcony. There is a restaurant right in the middle of the pools. There is also a bar right on the beach. Food was rather good but the selection was not huge. Nothing got stolen. Many families with kids. The beach was beautiful.
