My husband and I were a little nervous after reading all of the reviews from people and went with the attitude it was alright if it wasn't great!! Well it was beyond any dreams of wonderful that it could be. The staff was more than helpful and always smiling and pleased to help, the rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, the food was gourmet and fabulous, the grounds were so manicured and well taken care of. We just can't image what expectations the people who wrote poor reviews had set on this resort. You do have to realize that this is another Country and things don't always go perfect. As long as you are pleasing and understanding things will go smooth it is all about your attitude and what you make of it! And gratitude goes a long way they work very hard to be pleasing show some appreciation and tip. We had a magnificent time and would recommend it to anyone. Just remember to make your own opinions and you will have a fabulous time!

I went to Cancun 2 weeks ago with my husband and stayed our first 3 days at the Grand Oasis Playa. The check in was fast and the lobby was beautiful so i was so excited to see our room. The bellman took us up and i immediately noticed the smell of old wet wood in the hallway of the hotel. the room was ok, but the bathroom was not as clean as i expected. the bed also smelled of old sheets so my husband and i ended up putting towels on them. Let me tell you about the food...OMG..horrible!! i know it's all inclusive and i didn't expect much but, WOW, this was almost borderline DISGUSTING!! Please do not stay at the hotel if you're expecting good food and clean rooms. otherwise, yes the pool was beautiful and the service was nice, but thumbs down on the food and cleaniliess.
Great Time!

My husband and I were at the Oasis Playa the first week of September. We had a great time. The staff was great. No, matter what we asked for someone was always willing to help. Room was nice and clean. Dining areas were great; food was well prepared and good. You certainly do not run out of option to eat. Beach area was a little disappointing because of the large rocks that made it dangerous to swim. That was due to hurricane Gustav. Everything else was great. Do recommend hotel and will stay there again.

My family and I stayed at oasis cancun, at a cost of approximately $*. airfare inc.,
the best part of the stay was the ocean view and the pool staff, who were very kind and family friendly. The accomadations were atrocious! There were leaky ceilings, our room had mold on several walls, giant cockaroaches, and the worst part was the fact that our room toilet was broken for 5 of our 7 day stay. When we first began to complain about the toilet, we were told that it would be fixed immediately, which did not happen. After the 3rd day, we were very irritated and demanded to have it fixed, but were told the hotel did not have spare parts for toilets. My family and I had to use an adjacent rooms toilet or the public toilet in the lobby. The staff pretended they did not understand our disappointment and asked us to use the hole in the floor to relieve ourselves. We were not allowed to have water out of the filters, unless we purchased it at a cost of $4 a bottle, for each of our family and friends ( there were 9 of us total) this was supposed to be an all inclusive vacation. Apparently, all inclusive doesnt include drinking water. By the 5,6,7 day I could not wait to go home. The manager offered us an upgrade that was never accepted by any other staff, we were denied the upgrade several times. Finally, we were offered a coupon to return within a year to make up for the awful conditions, we will NOT be going back. I suggest you look into a different hotel if you have plans to visit Cancun, but if you do beware of the excursion salesmen.
