Restaurants in town and beaches

Best Things About the Resort:
It is relaxing and quiet - great for doing nothing - and the restaurant by the pool always has good food.

Resort Experience:
One part of Los Tules that we love is that it is not a high rise; the condos have large rooms, large patios, and colorful décor, and the entire complex is a low-stress location, and convenient too - it is right across from Gigante grocery store and also the Corona store. There are several pools in the complex - we like to stay in buildings five or six, which are by the largest pool and adjacent to the complex restaurant.

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is in the Hotel Zone, which is away from the busy downtown, but a huge market, Giante, is right across the street and has all of what you might need on your vacation.

Best Things About the Resort:
One of the best things about this resort is its lush tropical gardens all over its property, along with the many beautiful blue pools spread out all over.

Resort Experience:
Los Tules was a great place to spend a week with my wife. It was very quiet, beautiful, and full of friendly people. Downtown was a short 5-minute cab ride away, and then you were in the middle of everything. The rooms were very well kept and spacious. We had a wonderful week of fun in the sun.

Best Things Nearby:
The Puerto Vallarta downtown and old town, Gigante supermarket (across the street), and bus stop to downtown and the old town were nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
It is close to town and units are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Resort Experience:
The best thing about this resort is its location, which is very close to the bus stop. The bus will take you downtown in 5 minutes and to old town in 10 minutes. There is a big supermarket right across the street.

We stayed in a studio unit, which was spacious enough for two people and clean. There was no ocean view and no balcony furniture.

The resort is pretty big and has several pools. The big pool was crowded. Mostly families with kids stayed there. The smaller pools were much more quiet.

The resort’s beach was not all that nice. It was the rainy season, so the water was not clean.

The resort offers a welcoming party, which could be a lot of fun if you have a couple of shots of tequila and participate in games. We actually won a couple of items, including a tour to the Yellapa village, which was really, really good.

We used our regular timeshare week. We stayed in a three-bedroom unit, which was very spacious and overlooked the ocean. It was nice and clean.

Best Things Nearby:
This resort has an excellent location, not far from where one wants to go. Gigante Shopping Center is just across the street--loved the fresh bakery. We also had to try the Pizza Hut--and were not disappointed! The marina and airport are a short taxi or bus trip away.

Best Things About the Resort:
The units are quite large and fully equipped. It was very nice for a one bedroom to have 2 bathrooms, each with their own tub/shower. We spent a lot of time in the evenings just watching English language movies on the satellite TV and eating Gigante food.

Resort Experience:
This is a quiet, well-landscaped, traditional looking property with several buildings, all near one of the several swimming pools. Don't look for excitement--it's more of a family type setting. The pools aren't heated and were usually empty. One of the several resort cats adopted us, especially when we had leftover fish to feed it. The resort's travel office has discount pricing on most of the local tours so no need to buy ahead of time.
