relaxing in Puerto Vallarta

A March 2005 trip to Puerto Vallarta by waggonerjan

Our favorite town for relaxing when the stress of work has reached its peak! We go every year - we stay at Los Tules, and you won't be sorry. The restaurant, beach, and pools are all great. Not a lot of nightlife, but the restaurants in town are excellent.

Best Things About the Resort:
It is relaxing and quiet - great for doing nothing - and the restaurant by the pool always has good food.

Resort Experience:
One part of Los Tules that we love is that it is not a high rise; the condos have large rooms, large patios, and colorful décor, and the entire complex is a low-stress location, and convenient too - it is right across from Gigante grocery store and also the Corona store. There are several pools in the complex - we like to stay in buildings five or six, which are by the largest pool and adjacent to the complex restaurant.

Restaurant

We love Cuetos - although we go only once each year, the staff actually remembers us every time, and they are friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is tucked away near the soccer stadium, so ask a taxi driver to take you there. As soon as you sit down, you'll get chips and salsa. For entrées, I recommend the garlic-and-butter jumbo shrimp, while my husband loves the red snapper - he's had it cooked several ways at Cuetos and has always been happy. After dinner, try their Kahlua-and-cream drink!
