A little disappointing

We were expecting a luxurious "Conde Nast Golden 100" experience. This hotel does not live up to other Westin properties that we have stayed at. Perhaps it was due to "slow season" or perhaps it was due to the H1N1 flu travel slowdown, but the service left a lot to be desired. One of the two restaurants was closed "for remodeling" (we saw no evidence of work being done), but our bellhop recommended it to us for dinner on our first night. We walked there (in the rain) to find it empty, no 'closed' sign, just empty. There was no concierge - for six days. No one to recommend restaurants or help book tours. The business center was rarely open and you had to pay to get online for very slow connections. There were few standard amenities in the spa - such as soap in the shower (men's and women's). Out of a common liquor to make a house specialty drink at the swim up bar - for the full week. The food at the remaining restaurant was mediocre and overpriced, but were forced to eat there a few times due to illness. Overall the service was friendly, though there were a few people who didn't seem to know basic things about staying at the hotel or in the town. The most help we received was from one of the valets, who directed us to a few restaurants and was helpful with taxis. The room was nice enough, though not a four star room. We stayed in an ocean view room, the view was nice. The beach was not very nice, small and there was a lot of trash in the water, even with staff cleaning it every day. We got a good deal, but I would not go again.

It was a very relaxing vaction for me. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Clean rooms, great pools, fitness center and spa. Restaurant had great food and service. The security of the Westin was excellent. I have nothing to say but good things. Visit Puerto Vallarta and the Westin, there is no swine flu, really.
Wonderful place to stay

Went for our anniversary. Vacation of a lifetime. Treated us like family. Everyone knew us by name. Room was beautiful and clean. If we wanted anything, we just had to ask. View was beautiful. Food was delicious. Pool and the pool bar happy hour was great. The spa was clean and first class. The massages were outstanding. Liked being by the Marina. Easy to get downtown by taxi. Saw two weddings at the hotel. Looks like a great place for a wedding.
Best Vacation Ever

I didn't think this vacation to the Westin would be as great as it was...I mean everything was absolutely perfect. I had never met a more friendly hotel staff. The room was great, the view was great. Room service 24/7 and the food was delish. I will most definitely be back to the Westin in the future. I will say one thing i was disappointed with was the steakhouse on the property. I had the most expensive steak and it wasn't all that great. Also the pictures displayed on the travel webiste don't even show how beautiful the place really is. Oh and definitely check out the restaurant right across the street from the hotel to the left of the OXXO (like a 7/11) its a little hole in the wall mexican place called EL PRIMO but the people are awesome and the food is amazing. Especially the spicey shrimp and steak. Bottom line my stay at the Westin was AMAZING!!!!!!

First trip to Puerto Vallarta. This Westin was the most beautiful hotel that I have ever stayed in. Absolutely breath-taking. Excellent food. Very clean. Excellent staff. The most amazing swimming pools. I can't say enough about this Westin. I can't wait to go back.
