Manhattan Express Roller Coaster

This roller coaster is probably one of the longest roller coasters I've been on. It goes around the casino's outside and ends in the casino. It is at the back of the Coney Island Emporium so it seems like it is part of a huge theme park. The line up to get on this ride was not long and we only waited 5 minutes to get on. Once you have paid for your initial ride, it is only $7 to ride again. We would have done the ride again, but it was our last day and there was so much more to see. We will definately do this ride again next time we are in Vegas. You are not able to take anything on the ride and have rent a locker to put your stuff in for 50 cents.

For a fun treat while walking around the famous Strip, stop in the New York New York Hotel & Casino for a ride on the thrilling Manhattan Express Roller Coaster. Located on the second floor of the Coney Island game room, the roller coaster begins and ends inside the casino building for a quick look down onto the casino floor. The cars are built to look like old-fashioned NYC yellow cabs, and the ride takes you over the outdoor replica of the New York harbor, complete with a Statue of Liberty over 150 feet tall.

For $12.50 per person you get a 3 minute thrill ride, and an escape from the bustle of the crowded Strip sidewalks or casino floors. With drops over 200 feet, loops, twists, and turns, this roller coaster is fun and worth the price. There are discounts offered for multiple rides ($6 for an extra ride or $25 all-day ride pass), or a four-pack for $49 includes 4 tickets and 2 photos! Look for the lockers outside the waiting line, and be sure to put all loose articles in the keyed lockers (50cents), because no cameras, wallets, sunglasses, loose jackets, etc are allowed on the ride.

Manhattan Express Roller Coaster

I love roller coasters, and I thought it would be fun to ride the coaster at the NY-NY hotel/casino. The "Manhattan Express" is a cool-looking ride because it wraps around the entire hotel. However, I didn't care for it too much...it was very rocky and my head kept banging off of the harness. When I got off of the ride, I had a dull headache. I went on the ride 2 years later thinking it would be different, but the same thing happened. The harness should be snug around your shoulders and head/neck area to avoid all the jostling around. I think I would have enjoyed the ride much more had my harness fit better.

It gives you a nice view of the Strip as it flings you from the casino, out of the hotel, and back again. It's lots of fun.

The Manhattan Express Roller Coaster at the New York New York Hotel and Casino is a fun roller coaster. It is worth the money to ride it. It takes you out through the building and outside the hotel for a stunning view of the Strip. If you can, you should ride it once at night and once during the day. If not, ride it at night, when it's the best, and get in the front if possible, as it's worth it. Get in the front row at nighttime, and buddy, you're going for a ride!!!!
