My recent stay at the Venetian was one of the most disappointing and frustrating hotel stays in my life. As someone who travels consistently, I have never experienced a more arrogant and offensive staff. I would implore everyone considering a stay here, go elsewhere.
On the night of my stay, I returned to my hotel room only to find that my key card would not let me into my room. While my sick girlfriend curled up on the floor in front of the door, I was forced to run to the front desk to figure out what was going on. At the front desk, they indicated to me there was a $357 outstanding balance to my account, and consequently the hotel locked me out of the room. To be locked out of my room for a $357 balance is unbelievable to me. Why could it not be addressed in the morning? This is the Venetian, not the Holiday Inn… and $357 is NOT a meaningful amount of money. And while I'm not a multi-billionaire, I'm fortunate to have a meaningful disposable income, which I displayed repeatedly on the casino floor. Furthermore, the front desk manager had the audacity to accuse me of not picking up my phone when the Venetian called me about this outstanding balance. This was an out-and-out lie, because no such phone call was ever made.
After running the charge through, I was given new keys, that DID NOT WORK. While my girlfriend shivered on HER KNEES on the FLOOR, I had to run back to the front desk AGAIN to get new keys. At that time, he indicated to me that upon check-in, the front desk clerk improperly swiped my credit card. I did not receive an apology. I was never contacted… just locked out of my room for their stupidity.
This staff needs to be held accountable for treating people without respect. Stay elsewhere. Teach these large money grubbing corporations a lesson and spend your hard earned money where you will be treated properly.

This hotel was one of the finest you could stay at. Twenty-five years ago, which was the last ime I was in Vegas, Ceasars was the best on the strip, The Venetian has it beat. All of the staff are friendly and will answer your questions immediately and offer any help. The lobby and entrace hall is nothing short of spectacular. The Gondola rides inside the hotel are great and the Gondola Operators singing is absolutley magnificent. The rooms are 5 star, the restaurants were all class acts and the waite staff were very friendly. The hotel has several pools that are all class acts as well.
Would stay here again if I ever get back to Vegas, no questions asked. Was my wifes first trip to vegas, took her for our 30th year of marriage and the hotel made it well worth the trip.
If you go to Vegas and don't stay at The Venetian you have missed out on a fine experience.

Have stayed there twice in the past year. We have traveled extensively, and this is by far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff is fantastic; the restaruants are great, top shelf drinks for free in the casino, and the beds are very comfy. Rooms are huge and opulent - people who are complaining must never be happy!

Just got back from Vegas. We hit most of the larger Hotel Casinos and are very glad we stayed at the Venetian. Staff was great. Hotel was very beautiful and has lots to do and see. Luxor and Mandalay Bay were very confusing and got lost in both. Rooms were large and when we mentioned that we were having a difficultly moving around in the wheelchair due to a mobility cart we had also rented, the Venetian upgraded us to a much larger suite for a minimal cost. If we ever go back to Vegas, we will be staying at the Venetian. By the way, it was in a prime location in about the middle of the strip. The casino itself was a little pricey on the table game minimums ($25) but we solved that problem by walking down south to Bill's Casino ($10). Good Luck and have fun.
Also, DO NOT GO TO LORD OF THE DANCE, very cheap and waste of money. Blue Man Group and Wayne Brady were both entertaining and funny. Wayne Brady was the best as is was made up as he went and involved alot of audience participation.

Pros:
beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, an amazing view, awesome location(!!), clean & stylish bathrooms, friendly staff, nice pools, great restaurants/cafes, coupons and vouchers upon checkin were a surprise, located next door to a 24 hour drugstore, & services such as car rental and holding our bags after checkout were a plus
Cons:
walking a long distance just to get postage stamps, the scented air, casino floor was a bit confusing, there wasn't a fridge, microwave, or coffee maker in the room, pool area didn't have many lounge chairs, & gondola was a bit expensive for a super short ride (it should be free or a reduced price to guests)
Overall, it was a good hotel for the price we paid. We would definitely stay at the Venetian again if the price was right.
