The front staff were all friendly. The only interaction we had with staff was at check-in and check-out. Everything in the room was in order. The room was nice. I expected it to smell, since it is an old building. Didn't smell a thing. You can't beat the location. We were within minutes of walking to the Grauman's chinese theater, Kodak theater and the Hollywood walk of fame. A mall was next door. We felt very safe with our car parked behind a gate. Parking is free. Only those with a room key can enter the parking garage. We would return.
Highly recommend

Great place to stay. Secure, gated parking and friendly staff. For a family, spend a few extra bucks for a kitchen. My room had a small kitchen complete with fridge, stove, sink, dining table and countertops. This could alleviate the dining out for every meal. The pool was clean, even in December. I traveled alone on my trip and felt very safe at this hotel. The staff is super-friendly too!

My family and I, 5 adults, stayed at the Hollywood Orchid Suites. We had the 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite. The suite was very clean and we had plenty of room. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend the Hollywood Orchid Suites to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Hollywood area. The walk over to Hollwyood Blvd. is just around the corner and convenient to tour buses as well as many attractions on Hollywood Blvd. We are looking forward to returning to the Hollywood Orchid Suites on our next vacation there.

This ain't no disco
It ain't no country club either
This is LA!
The above lyrics describe the Orchid Suites so perfectly that I kept hearing that Sheryl Crow song in my head during my stay there in November. The Orchid Suites ain't no country club, but it does have a few things going for it... primarily, location, location, location.
The hotel is steps away from the Hollywood and Highland complex, which houses the Chinese Theater, the Kodak Theater (think Academy Awards), restaurants, clubs and shopping. The hotel is also steps away from Hollywood Blvd, featuring the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where you can catch tours. I found myself staring at the side walk as I walked over various stars, including David Copperfield (who knew he had a star?).
The Orchid Suites is very affordable. Astonishingly affordable considering the location. Like I said, it's no country club, so if you want fancy amenities, this is not the place for you. It does have large rooms with separate kitchens equipped with a sink, stove, and refrigerator. From what I understand, the hotel is a converted apartment building. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. I slept very well and didn't hear any noise from other rooms or outside. The furniture is old, but still in decent shape. The TV had cable and the hotel offers free WI-Fi for those with laptops. An Internet kiosk was also available for guests to use.
I didn't need it, but the hotel also offers free underground parking. It also has a pool, but I didn't check it out. I found the hotel staff friendly and efficient.
If I ever visit LA again, I will definitely book a room at the Orchid Suites.
