Class All The Way

My two grandsons and I spent four days and nights at this outstanding hotel and can't say enough good things about it. We were treated in such a gracious manner by every single staff member we encountered. The accommodations are excellent, the view is sublime, and the food is "out of this world," according to my grandsons. The pools are beautiful and perfect for small children, as well as adults who want that pampered feeling. You will not regret choosing this fine hotel for your stay in the L.A. area. It may very well be the highlight of your trip!

Will definitely stay here again!

Excellent hotel, bar, restaurant and bar food. Very helpful and friendly hotel staff. Heated pool. Staff at the Equinox Spa next door not too friendly. Central to all popular locations in LA. A beautiful mall and theatre right next door. Great selection of tasty food at the food court of this mall too!

Positive Experience

The staff was excellent and the service was wonderful. They have a good but expensive breakfast buffett. I enjoyed it but it cost $27.00 plus tax and tip. The room was gorgeous - lots of granite and mirrors, pretty pillows on the very comfortable bed. Big flat screen TV. Very clean. Nice balcony. I liked that the curtains totally blocked out the light so you could sleep in without being bothered by the bright California light in your eyes. The problem for me was the shower didn't drain properly and I hate that at a hotel. This was the only problem I had with my room. The location was great - I drove down to the beach easily and throughout the city. It was easy to find my way back as well. I was annoyed that I rented a car from the on-site Hertz facility and was then billed something like $35 to park for the night. The car would have been there anyway. Being nickle and dimed to death is annoying. I want to reiterate how wonderful the staff was - they could not do enough for you and were very curteous. I would stay here again and just hope for the best regarding the shower drain.

Outstanding service

We had been to the Century Plaza when it was a Westin, and were pleased to see that Hyatt has renovated it completely. We were in an east facing room, which is smaller than the west facing rooms, so it made a tight fit when we added a rollaway for our child. However, the rollaway folded up and out of the way during the day, and the other furniture fit nicely and was comfortable. The bathroom is large and well lit, the closet is large, and a balcony spans the width of the room, so it's like having another room to escape to for reading the paper or enjoying a drink. Most importantly, the hotel staff were universally friendly and efficient. The housekeeper managed to keep track of our departure without us even seeing her, so our room was made up and ready during the 45 minutes we'd spent at breakfast downstairs; the front desk clerks always said hello as we walked past on our way in and out; the restaurant wait staff was quick and friendly; and the parking valets always greeted us and made small talk while we waited for our car to come around. There was never a sense that we were bothering them or that something else was more important to them at that moment. The only complaint we had was that it sometimes took awhile for our car to be brought around from valet parking, so I suggest that guests call ahead for their car at least 10 minutes before you plan to be downstairs. This is a great hotel in a perfect location for us, so we will be back again on a regular basis.
