Restaurant

Our fishing guide had recommended Doc Fords and since it was a Rum Bar (my boyfriend's favorite drink) we decided to try it. We got there relatively early, since we had been fishing all day and missed lunch, and the place only had a few people, but by the time we left it was pretty crowded. My boyfriend got a captain morgan and coke, and since it was weak (by his standards) I told him to try another rum. There were quite a few to choose from and the once he picked was very sweet, and neither of us cared for it. For dinner he got some sort of grouper tacos I think which he enjoyed and I got a shrimp risotto. Both of our meals were good. He decided to order dessert and ordered a brownie with ice cream and caramel and chocolate sauce. He was torn between two desserts, one which had caramel sauce and the other the chocolate so when we asked the waiter about them, he said he would put both sauces on. The dessert was very good, in fact, I very rarely eat dessert, or just a few bite, and could not stop eating it. Our waiter was very nice and we enjoyed the place. They also have t-shirts, etc and books by randy white which we looked at, but didn't buy, but ended up coming back later to buy a couple of t-shirts.

Restaurant

Well, we weren't sure were to go for dinner, and I saw that we could get points from american airline if we dined here, so we tried it. To start off we ordered conch fritters, which I didn't really care for, they were ok, but I guess I am used to eating them in the bahamas. For dinner I had a fish special, I believe it was Mahi Mahi with asparagus, etc, and it was ok, but nothing to rave about. My boyfriend I believe got some sort of steak, which he ate, and said was ok, but by the time we left the restaurant, he said that wasn't very good, in fact it was terrible. The place it self had the nautical/pirate theme and was dark inside. The waiter, who was trying to be nice, was in fact just annoying. We would not return to this place.

gramma dot'sBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

When we first got to Sanibel, it was past lunchtime, so we were hungry and wanted grouper sandwiches. Our hotel recommended timbers or gramma dots. We drove out to timbers, but they were not opened, so we drove back down to gramma dots which is close to the lighthouse at the marina. They serve beer and wine there, but no other alchohol. We both had the grouper sandwiches which were very good, with the grouper hanging over the roll. It also came with homemade potatoe chips which were very good, and coleslaw and even an orchid! I had wanted to try the key lime pie, since I heard that was very good there also, but was full from lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed out lunch, and would have gone back for dinner, but it said they were only opened until 7:00, We did stop in one evening around 7:30 for a drink and they were still there so we stayed until the last diners had finished. We like this place, and the waitress were very nice and friendly and we would definitely go back.
