My husband and I recently went to Myrtlebeach, SC, and stayed at the Yachtsman. I must say the timeshare rooms are very spacious, including a whirlpool tub, wonderful view of the ocean, king-size bed, and all the appliances you would have at home--even a blender.

The Pier14 (Restaurant/bar)
Our favorite things to do, of course, are lie out in the sun, enjoy great food at the wonderful restaurants nearby, and shop at some of the best malls and outlets, which are close to the hotel. We went to Broadway at the Beach to eat. They have a large selection of shops and great restaurants from all over the world.

Also very close to that is a NASCAR restaurant, go-cart track, and souvenir shop. This is the first time we rode the NASCAR go-carts. We had lots of fun racing each other. If anyone should go and visit this place, be sure to go right across the street from the hotel for breakfast at the Olympia Flame Pancake House. They have the best breakfast on the strip. We ate there every morning. Also behind the hotel, they have live entertainment on the Pier (14) every night, plus the best steaks I have ever eaten.

Quick Tips:

Go inside the Yachtsman Hotel. The lobby has a coupon machine where you can press anyplace for activities or restaurants for coupons that automatically print out with just one touch. Every place you can think of at the beach is listed in the machine (lots of coupons).

Best Way To Get Around:

We pretty much walked to everything, because the hotel was so close to the strip, restaurants, shopping, and directly on the beach!

Best Things Nearby:
Shopping, restaurants, and nightlife

Best Things About the Resort:
People are very friendly, all rooms are oceanfront and very nice, and location is the best because it is so close to everything that you can walk just about everywhere!

Resort Experience:
The room I stayed in was a one-bedroom with king-size bed. It also had a queen fold-out sofa bed in the living room. If you have children, it is great because it also has a room with two bunk beds.
