Worth the Visit

We had a few hrs after finishing out Trade Show visit so we came here. My wife didn't think she wanted to go to the special exhibit on pirates but being a " Boy" I did and she even admitted it was really good and was educational and debunked a lot of pirate myths. The Aquarium itself while smalled than most has some interesting animals not commonly seen at many aquariums.

I'll give this a four, simply for being able to touch a ray! That was a unique experience. I have to admit though, as we finished walking through I couldn't help but think, "is that it?" It had much less than I was expecting, as I had heard how great it was supposed to be. The walk through "tunnel" part of the aquarium was cool. There was also a little window looking through to jellyfish that had a ledge in front of it. That's a great place for pictures of your children with the jellyfish floating behind them. All in all, our family (2 children, 3 grown-ups) enjoyed it. I wouldn't pay the money to go again though.
Not Worth the Money
Although it was under $20 for an adult ticket, it's not worth the time or money. There were some neat views of sharks, and you could pet stingrays, but there was no sea turtle like it said, and really it was pretty small. If you've never been to an aquarium it would be fun, but it's not where near as amazing as the TN aquarium or other aquariums I've been to.

We took the boys (10-12) to the aquarium. It was not as large as I thought it would be. There are a few side rooms with some informative displays but I found that it was to crowded to enjoy (read) them. The best part of the aquarium is the moving sidewalk that takes you though glass tunnels for underwater viewing of the fish, sharks, and other marine life. There was a presentation with the stingrays, but that was overly crowded as well. At the end of the underwater viewing there is a hands on touch tank and various learning stations for the kids. Yes you guessed, it was overcrowded too. It was very loud in there. Naturally when you are finished with your visit you have to walk through a long gift shop to get out. I think it would have been more enjoyable if it was less crowded. I wouldn't ave paid to see it if it was just my husband and I, but the kids thought it was neat.

It's rather small, but it's neat. It's set up to almost force you into a single path to see everything. Going through the shark tank was the longest part but it was cool to try and see all the different animals in the tank. It is worth the money. If you ask at the gift shop counter they will give you a stamp for free readmission all day.
