Great Location, Good Views

We were in town for a Trade Show at the convention Center so this Location was great. Plus for just a few dollars more we got an Ocean front room. It was great to go to sleep with the sound of the surf and wake up to a wonderful sunrise ( or even a morning fog bank).

We were here VERY OFF SEASON so many of the amenities were closed for the season, but as we were busy going to the show then working on days orders etc it more that met our basic needs with one exception- We had a coffee maker but NO COFFEE!!

Breakers Resort Paradise Tower

We chose the Breakers for our group leisure trip in February. It was a decision we later came to regret. Much of the property amenities were sectioned off with yellow caution tape, rendering quite a few of the pools/Jacuzzis unusable. I also found that the rate we were charged was quite high compared to other properties in the Myrtle Beach area for what the hotel actually had to offer. We staying in a one bedroom suite in the palms (or paradise) tower. It was fairly clean and furnished, similar to an average room at a Holiday Inn. It did have a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator. However, the very narrow balcony had high walls at each side blocking much sun or view. Another problem was the seagulls. They tend to hang around the hotel in very large groups at night. I actually like birds, but it was somewhat odd for them to be hanging around on your balcony day and night. Which also resulted in a complete mess on the balcony. When we checked in, the balcony was absolutely filthy and unusable. It was covered in bird droppings. The two white (cheap) plastic chairs and table were soiled, as was the floor of the balcony. I don't know if they don't bother to clean the balconies up, or if that is just how it happens in that area. Basically, we could not use the balcony at all, which was very disappointing. However, the worst problem we had was with a member of the staff management. The man had such a poor attitude that I would never return to this hotel. Not to mention, the credit card we used was billed for additional nights that we did not even stay at the hotel! I have repeatedly contacted the manager and website links regarding this over-billing and have been ignored completely. Eventually, I was forced to file a disputed claim with the credit card company as the hotel will not reply to me. I have yet to resolve this issue as almost a month has passed. I am very disappointed with this hotel and will not return. My advice would be to stay further north and go with a property like the St Clements, with whom we stayed twice last fall without incident. We enjoyed the property there very much!

Friends of mine stayed at this hotel and were robbed at gunpoint in their hotel room. Apparently, they have no cameras and the exit doors at the end of the hotel hallways are never locked. The hotel has yet to do anything for the group besides claim in through their insurance. They didn't even apologize for the event. These people could have been shot to death in their hotel room because of poor security measures and the hotel couldn't say sorry. My friends had to ask for a room change. Don't stay here. It's not safe!!!!!

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite in the Paradise Tower building, and it was perfect. You walk into the suite, and on your left is a bedroom with two twin beds. The bedroom had its own TV and its own bathroom. Up the little hall further on your right was a washer and dryer. On up to the right was the full kitchen, with full-size refrigerator, four-burner stove, and dishwasher. And it was completely stocked with all the dishes you would ever need. A bar separated the kitchen from the dining room area, which had a large six-person dining table and chairs.

Then, out from that was the living room. We had a corner suite and the walls in the corner were glass so we had a surround view of the atlantic ocean. Off from the beginning of the living room to the left was the master bedroom with a queen bed and its own bathroom. The living room and the master bedroom had glass sliding doors that opened up onto the balcony, all set up with chairs and a table. Nothing obstructed our view of the beautiful Atlantic ocean. The master bedroom also had its own TV, as did the living room, of course.

At the bottom of the building was a huge pool complex that was both inside and outside. It had two Jacuzzis, a pool, and a very large lazy river that went through the inside and then outside. You could float along and look at the ocean; they had floats there to use at the pool area. The pool and the lazy river were both heated; it was like bathwater. Right out front of that was a boardwalk that took you to the beach. I would absolutely stay here again if I return to Myrtle Beach, especially with kids.
