When we first pulled up we were bracing ourselves for the worst, as some of the buildings aren't very pretty on the outside. However, when we walked inside it was a pleasant surprise. The service was great, the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The view was gorgeous. We had ocean front. We were very happy with our stay and would book there again.

Peppertree Ocean Club is a timeshare resort. It is right on the beach with fabulous views of the ocean.

It is an older resort with furnishings that look like they once were nice, but now look a little used. Any pictures that you might see on RCI reflect what the units looked like when they were new. Definitely not how they look now.

The units are stocked with what you need. Daily linen exchange is available without an extra charge.

The bed has a very thin mattress that was not comfortable and needed to be replaced. Most importantly, the units were not cleaned very well.

There was a lot of dirt under the frig that was viewable while sitting on the sofa. The kitchen cabinets had spills on them that were not wiped off. The phone was so disgusting that I went out and bought Lysol to clean it myself.

The outdoor pools were very clean, but the hot tubs did not have enough water in them to allow the dirt to go out the skimmers, so they were full of tree debris. They also have an indoor pool, which was clean.

The bottom line is that if you want a fabulous. oceanfront view, this place is for you. If dirt bothers you, then you will be uncomfortable here. I don't need fancy, but I do need clean.

Room looked very nice; spacious (rooms ending in -17 are larger). Alas, cleanliness was lacking: the tile floor was very grimy, left our feet dirty if we were barefoot. That was nothing compared to the "palmetto bugs" (a.k.a. cockroaches) in the room. We killed four over a 7-night stay. To their credit, the staff did try to help, but we declined both spraying (no pesticides wanted around my 16-month-old) and a move to another room (no guarantee we wouldn't have them there, too). Staff was apologetic and gave us a fruit basket for our trouble. Still, don't know that I would ever be comfortable returning. We expect to get some laughs out of "remember whens," and I figure they jumped right on the problem after our departure.

Best Things Nearby:
Lots of great golf, many restaurants, and plenty of shopping. Myrtle Beach National Golf Course is a must for golfers, especially the North King's course (pricey, but worth it).

Best Things About the Resort:
There are three hot tubs, two outdoor pools, and one indoor pool. It is on the beach. The staff was very helpful.

Resort Experience:
My husband and I stayed at the resort in June 2005 and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Our one-bedroom condo had recently been remodeled and was very nice. It was small, though, and really only comfortable for two people. We had a balcony with an ocean view. The outside of the building was nothing to look at, but the amenities were great. In addition to the hot tubs and pools, there were outdoor grills, a workout room, laundry room, plenty of baggage carts. Fresh towels were available every day.

We would definitely stay here again.
