Description: We stayed at the Embassy Suites with my children in July 2005. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and assigned to our room at 2:30pm, even though check-in wasn't until 4pm. Our room was no. 1813, and I was pleasantly surprised when we opened the door after reading so many negative reviews of the hotel.
The room was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. Upon entry, there was a sofa, lounge chair, coffee table, two end tables, efficiency kitchen complete with a small refrigerator and microwave, table, four chairs, 27-inch TV, and glass doors leading to the balcony with chairs and a table. To the left was the double-sink dressing area, with a separate room for showering, etc. The separate bedroom had another TV in the armoire, nightstands, comfortable bed, and another set of doors leading to the same balcony.
The breakfast offered in the morning was excellent, served from 6:30 to 10am. The food was served buffet style, but you can order pancakes or eggs any way you want from the server. I didn't find this out until the second day.
Everyone I encountered was very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The pool areas were crowded, but with two pools, a water park, and a lazy river, you always had options of where to swim. The kids had a blast in the water park, free to guests at Embassy Suites. The evening reception offered the "drink of the day" or several mixed drinks, beer, or wine. Also, there were chips and goldfish crackers for snacking! They always had a special nonalcoholic drink for the kids. Blue Smurf was a big hit with the little ones. The health club was state of the art. Racquetball, tennis courts, the weight room, body pump classes, etc., were just some of the highlights of the health club, free for all guests. They even have their own indoor and outdoor pool. I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel.
Prices vary depending on the time of year. We paid $199 for 2 nights and $229 for the other 2. Check the Hilton website for rates. They also have villas and condos for rent.
