Comfortable, Peaceful, Down to Earth

I stayed here in August 2007 and it was well worth the money paid, $230 for the week in a 2 bed 2 bath unit through RCI Extra Vacations. The master bedroom had a nice, big bed with a Jacuzzi jetted tub. The furnishings were perfect for the seaside decor - washed white and rustic. The kitchen was big enough for me and my boyfriend. We did not use the 2nd bedroom to sleep in, just to store our luggage. However, my BF did use the second bathroom from time to time, primarily when I was lounging in the master bath Jacuzzi tub. The condo was a bit small and I cannot imagine a family of 4 finding it spacious enough. However, it is just the right size for 2, or perhaps 2 adults and a small child. The staff was helpful, though not the most informed. The pol is ok but this resort really needs an outdoor hot tub/spa. The patio is wonderful for sipping morning coffee or having a glass of wine in the evenings. My BF and I enjoyed several casual dinners on the wonderful patio furniture (table and chairs) provided in each unit. The seagulls will literally eat from your hand if you let them so be careful...Galveston is a peaceful and calming city and the miles of private beach right across the street do wonders for the weary soul. You will definitely RELAX here. My BF and I liked the fact that we were removed from the hustle and bustle of busy Seawall Blvd yet just a few minutes drive away. The drive itself along the beach is awesome and you will enjoy it (if the high gas prices don't bother you). My BF and I enjoy crusing in my Caddy so to us it was fun driving seaside in and out of town for lobsters and other dinner groceries. A+++ Resort and Town, IF YOU DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING TOO FANCY!

Best Things Nearby:
Nothing is really 'close' except the beach across the street

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort is pretty isolated from the town of Galveston (which is good and bad). The staff was great! The breeze kept the temperature bearable most of the time, and the ocean was warm.

Resort Experience:
The resort is at least 15 miles from the town and sightseeing activities. The Historic Strand was fun to poke around for an afternoon. Renting an umbrella and chairs was worth the money - almost like a small private beach. At night, we would walk on the beach and watch the hermit crabs. For the most part, the beaches were covered with seaweed, which wasn't too pleasant, but the beaches with rental chairs were cleaned. Breakfast places were hard to find. I would go back to Galveston, but would try to get a resort closer to town.

Endless private beach, Galveston Sea Wall Boulavard, shopping and shopping, Houston, TX

Best Things About the Resort:
Out away from the noise of the town. Very private resort, but close enough to play when you want

Resort Experience:
Seaside is a small resort that is building continually and is very quiet. It’s a perfect getaway to be with family and friends on the shoreline. I recommend staying there for a nice getaway. Request a lower floor if you have someone who doesn’t climb stairs well, because all the units sit high on stilts, and the resort doesn’t have elevators. The beach area is perfect for a private gathering, and the water in Galveston isn’t the prettiest, but it's very soothing.

Private Beach area

Best Things About the Resort:
Secluded area; approximate 15 miles from Galveston main

Resort Experience:
Silverleaf Seaside Resort is located about 15 miles west of Galveston main. It is the perfect spot for getaways with your loved ones. The relaxation at this spot is great and provides the quiet atmosphere that is needed to unwind from the troubles of the world.

The beach is located nearby and is a private beach where you can actually have a very peaceful visit without the crowd fighting for space. The beach is a protected area for Sea Turtles.

I recommend Silverleaf Seaside Resort for the family that like the private gathering with a major metropolitan area just a few miles away. Galveston is vastly becoming a recognized resort area as the travel industry is building more. The #1 water park in the world is building a theme park. Schlitterbahn Water park will open its doors in Galveston next spring.

The two bedroom units are in good shape. Very spacious and large kitchen. All Units are elevated due to beach area. Not a good resort for anyone that is handicapped. But overall the resort is a very relaxing place for a nice getaway. Silverleaf's Seaside Resort is located on picturesque Galveston Island.

Galveston is a great spot to visit and we will return to Silverleaf Seaside Resort very soon.

Best Things About the Resort:
Pool and activity room.
Catch a few movies to rent.

Resort Experience:
There isn't a water view but the resort is very newish and clean. Walk to the beach and there's a private area. Kitchen is fairly complete for cooking and grills are downstairs. The facility was very quiet when I was there.
