- Galveston is a town that takes to change slowly. Very little changes here, and that's a good thing. Texans have enjoyed this beach town for generations.

- It's Tuesday afternoon. We're sitting at a patio table in my dining room; island motif and music melting its mojo. My friend sighs, "I'd sure like to go to the beach." Looking over, I volunteered, having Saturday and Sunday off. There was a rather transfixed stare bridging pause. They offer to drive . . .

- Galveston is a fun beach destination; but, I wouldn't go unless I was living nearby or into bird-watching. When I lived in Houston and needed a "beach fix" it certainly filled the need. If you're a "birder" it's paradise.

- 6 of us took a Carnival Cruise from Galveston TX. Our stops consisted of Progresso, Cozumel and Belize.

- After many years' absence, I finally got to visit Galveston again! We all had a great time, enjoyed the sights, and found the people very friendly, the food good, and the days very pleasant!

- The Tremont House Hotel was incredible. A must stay place while visiting Galveston.
