The Room: The air conditioning had a problem with a terrible moldy smell. If you turned off the air, and left the door open it was fine.. EXCEPT....we all got huge (1/2 inch red spots) mosquito bites and unfortunately, my kids are still scratching two weeks later.
The Food: The food was okay for the first two days and then it got repetative.
Kids Club: If you have a 3-4 year old, the childcare was not good. The Baby Rock Club (ages infant-5 yrs) definitely caters more to babies. When my four year old walked in and saw all infants, he said, "I'm not a baby" and REFUSED to go. The older kids group (Bam Bam Club-ages 6-10) was not supervised well. I saw them at the beach and the teacher was building sand castles with her back to the water while the kids were splashing in the waves! Sorry, but this did not look safe. My 6 yr. old stayed with us and we were fine with that.
Would I return?: I might go back again because the staff was friendly and the pool and the grounds were beautiful, but there are nicer properties in Puerto Vallarta.

This hotel is wonderful! The staff, food, drinks, activities and rooms were great! Impeccable service made our stay outstanding. The hotel and grounds are very clean and kept up constantly. The food is great with a huge variety and different theme dinner every night. The shows were entertaining and funny. I will definately return. The location was great, right across the street from the marina. There were shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. We stayed 8 days and I only wish it could have been longer! We made the right choice choosing the Melia and our vacation was amazing!

Resort was ok, rooms smelled of mildew, restaurants where not all open, beach really small, pool could use some work
An OK experience

Not the place to go in Puerto Vallarta without very young kids. It is a very beautiful hotel. Service is very good. Staff is very friendly. Food was mediocre at best particularly at dinner. Specialty restaurants left alot to be desired. There is absolutely nothing at this hotel at night. You need to wait for the "very young" kids show to end before there is entertainment and that is geared to families. If my kids were 10 and under I would consider this hotel.
horrible hotel

The food will make you ill after about two days. The rooms smell like moth balls and must. There are tiles missing on the bottom of the pool, so watch your feet. The liqour that they sevre is bottom shelf at best! We couldn't get our room cleaned when we asked for it to be done. The shows for children are so late at night that my daughter couldn't stay awake to evjoy them. The only thing good about this place was the staff, but even some of them weren't what I expected when paying what we did. If you want to stay at a good holtel this is not the one!
