We recently stayed at the Melia for 6 days. The service was very nice. The food was not bad either. The only thing is some of the restuarants were only open some of the days. So, there were nights when only 2 restaurants were open. On a positve note, right across the street was the Marina and there were a lot of good restaurants and shops. All the way at the end is a taco shop VERY GOOD> There were alot of kids on property so if you are going for a romantic get away this not the place for you. Another thing, a dollar goes a long way. We tip our waiters $ 1 each time they would bring us a drink and you would not believe the thankfulness that was showed. X was great. He served around the pool each day we were there and would remember everyones drink order. We had 14 people with us. I probably would not stay here again just because I would like a bigger beach.

Very nice for a single woman traveling alone.

I stayed here in Late Jan,early Feb. I had a great time. It's a nice place to relax. The food and the hotel employees were awesome. I ate at every restaurant and enjoyed it everyday. I suggest the Whale Watching Tour but go with someone who knows what they're doing. Nov. Thru Feb.

Frustrated in St. Louis

We went with the intention of getting away, have a couple of drinks and were prepared for "ok" food and were still kind of disappointed. We felt pressured to attend a time share presentation and were promised freebies but the massages had limitations on them and it was hard to book an appointment even though it was a ghostown. Couple of the restaurants were not open while we were there. Everyone had their hands our for tips even though they were "supposed" to be included. Water was dingy and trashy. Hotel was beautiful and there were plenty of activities, we just never felt informed. We upgraded to the M experience and dont think it was worth it. AC was barely working, no bottle of wine at all, room was alright but still small, bed was rock hard. We had plenty of covers but room never got that cold that we needed them. We never knew we could have ordered room service until that last day there. NOONE explained the M Experience to us and it was a huge waste of money. We were entitled to 2 free 30 minute massages and were never told about them. Now mind you that this was during the flu scare and there werent all that many people there and it appeared they were still full staffed. The fridge was stocked with warm beer that took a day to cool off, cofee pot could not be plugged in uless you called to get an extention cord! I dont think i would go back to this resort, it kind of turned me off to the whole all inclusive deal!

Great Time in PV

Had a great time at Melia PV. The staff were excellent. The beach was clean. Pool was great. It was a very family friendly resort. Would definitely recommend this place to friends who were bringing their family. Food was not outstanding, but it was edible and neither my fiance nor I got sick on the trip. The resort is also located very conveniently by the Marina. It will take a cab ride to get to the area of the marina where excursions will take off though. It should only be a $5 cab ride.

No complaints AT ALL for this 3-star all-inclusive hotel. I would rate them a 4-star, even a 5 considering it is Mexico. Facilities are well-kept. Rooms clean. Staff courteous and friendly. Restaurant food SUPERB. Pool is clean, huge and beautiful. Family friendly with kids' activities everyday and grown-up activities all day. They offer inclusive baby-sitting service 'til 6pm most days, some days 'til 9pm (extra charge after that). There is entertainment every single night. AFter experiencing Melia, the rest of Puerto Vallarta does not seem pretty anymore. You don't have to leave the hotel at all. You wanna go shopping? There is a flea market 2x a week within the hotel and a gift shop open everyday. Sunsets on this side of the marina are beautiful. It was our first time doing an all-inclusive resort, and we might just do it this way from now on. Hopefully they all measure up to this one.
