I went on a public cruise in virginia beach,va "virginia's jewel" on the outside it seems to be a beautiful ship, when we arrived we were seated for diner, the food was gross! My husband had the chicken and i choose the fish, my husband said that his tasted funny, about after 45 min he started feeling sick, we reported it to the manager on duty and she was extremly rude, i think her name was marie, not only that that ship was dirty! I happen to ask the bartender for some water for my husband he, was very caring and consirned about my husband, but as far as the crusie goes i would never pay to go on that again!

The Virginia's Jewel is a cruise vessel specializing in lunch and dinner cruises along Broad Bay. Broad Bay is a tributary of the larger Chesapeake Bay. You can get to the boat ramp by taking the trolley or driving to Laskin Road and then walking or driving a few short blocks to the harbor on Broad Bay. We took a dinner cruise and it is most enjoyable. You will need to either call for scheduled cruises or check their website at www.virginiasjewel.com. I always make a reservation in case they fill up before we get there as it is a popular cruise.
They will ask you when you make your reservation what your preference is for dinner or lunch as there are usually a few choices. The times we went, there was a choice between a meat or seafood entree. We always pick the seafood and it is alway superb. The cruise along Broad Bay is very scenic and educates you about the area. After dinner, there is an upper deck with a lounge where you can enjoy an after dinner cocktail and beautiful sunsets. The dinner lasts around 2½ hours. Prices for the dinner trip are around $50 per person. Well worth it for a beautiful scenic romantic evening.
