big room, nice enough

My husband, and three children stayed here in November of 2008 when we came to visit family for Thanksgiving. The room was large, and the kitchen area was small, but it was very useful and had everything you would need, toaster, microwave, and nice size fridge. We stayed on the first floor and we had a little gated patio area which was nice, and the room was large enough that we had a little goodbye dinner there with some family members. My kids had a ton of fun in the lazy river and indoor pool since it was cold outside they had it all closed and it was really nice. I have stayed at finer hotels, but for the price it really is a good place. My you ngest daughter has allergic asthma and I am always worried about mold/mildew/and dust in hotels, but this one was clean, and we had no problems.

Hotel was great, very clean, service was super. There were 2 or 3 adult pools, children's pool was really cute and the lazy river was cool. They had 2 hot tubs and a steam room, although it was hot enough that we never even thried those.
The kitchenette was very tiny with not much room to move. There was a safe in the room but the locks were broken so it was useless.

Me and my two girlfriends stayed at the Long Bay Resort. The location, great! . Beach access, good. The resort, with their pools and fitness center and restaurant and bar, Nice. The room we stayed in and service , just ok. Our problems were the room we stayed in. The sink and toilette and bathtub were clogged, the door had no springs or something and it was so hard to open , it would almost hit our faces on the way in and smack us on our behinds on our way out. I dont recommend the "ocean view" room cause it was more like parking lot view. If you can afford it just get ocean front, maybe the rooms there are better. I wont be coming back to this place cause is my third time here and I've been to better places, but I LOVE MYRLTE BEACH!
My only bad experiance in twenty years at the beach

My stay at this hotel turned bad at the moment of check in. I arrived with my travel agency "Guaranteed" reservation in my hand. I was quickly informened that my stay was going to cost more than I was led to believe. Since they already had my deposit there was nothing I could do. The hotel appeared to be quite old and worn. The door to our room was very hard to open and close securely. The kitchen was also quite old and worn. The cleaning staff I think did as good as they could to keep the room clean but because of the age it just didn't feel clean. The office staff on the other hand were surly and down right unfriendly. The pool was too cold to stay in very long. The hot tub was difficult to get running. I think the switch was bad. Overall this was by far the worst experiance in over twenty years of going to Myrtle Beach. I would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel. There are plenty of good hotels at the beach.
