stayed in June and French Qtr. was hot... but this place was cool. Next to Jackson Square so close to everything. continental breakfast was fine, complimentary newspapers, friendly staff and so convenient to walk where ever you wished. On Iberville St. Deanies, mr. B's Bistro (bbq shrimp luncheon excellent), Felix'sare good places to eat. Many casual and fine dining places in Qtr. Hotel was quiet inside and nice courtyard/ pool. 3rd time I have stayed here and enjoyed all three times.

This hotel is an excellent choice for travelers who want to stay mere steps away from Jackson Square. There is a lovely courtyard. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room had traditional brick walls and wrought iron beds to complement the styles of the Quarter. The property is very well kept.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights at the end of March 09. The room was clean and comfortable. Our actual room didn't directly open up to the balcony, but we were only feet away. They offered a continental breakfast each morning, but we only took advantage of that one morning. Instead, we walked the one block to Cafe du Monde for some coffee and beignets. Well worth the long hike! The location of the hotel was perfect. We were in walking distance to everything, including the street car to take you to the Garden District. We didn't have much interaction with the staff other than "good morning." I would definitely recommend this hotel.
There was some construction being done on the building we stayed in (but we weren't warned), but luckily it was down the other end. We weren't bothered by any noise, but not sure if the people staying in the room closest to the construction were told about it or were bothered by it.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights the first week of March. Got in too early for check in at 4:00 , they stored our luggage while we strolled around French Quarters and got some lunch. The desk clerk called our cell when the room was ready at 2:00 ( early) so we could come back and relax after early morning flight. Room ( interior) had one queen size bed but comfortable and adequate for our needs. Nice continental breakfast in morning (Croissants, juice and good coffee!) Lovely garden area in back with pool. Room clean. Comfortable beds. Quiet at night. Location was great, right in the F.Q. and only half a block from Jackson Square, 1.5 blocks from Cafe Du Monde and Decateur St. Clerk at desk helpful with recommending good city tours available.
We would stay at this hotel again and have already recommended to friends and family.

The Place de Armes was perfect for our mid-week stay during Mardi Gras. You can't beat the location close enough to the madness to stumble home, but not so close that you would be kept up all night by noise. Our room was clean and the staff was professional. There is a charming little courtyard in the middle of the hotel. The Continental breakfast was just a danish, so don't count on it for much. Our room wasn't fancy, but it was unique and a was a good value.
