I love this hotel! The location is perfect, the services are exceptional and everyone was wonderful. If I have to find a fault at all, it was the very (very) long walk from the elevators to my room - but quite worth it once I arrived! I tried to book this hotel again but it was full - I think many people feel the same as I do.

We just got back from a week in New Orleans, and we will definitely stay in this hotel again when we go back! The staff were wonderful and helpful, and the room was great - they upgraded us to a loft room with a balcony, and the room was roomy, clean and very nice. Great location for getting to everything easily, you can walk to the river, the museums, the restaurants, the shopping. Definitely recommend this hotel! (You can get a refrigerator brought to your room if you ask - we only found out about this on the last day)

The bourbon dump!

Just left this hotel after only one night stay, and that's more than enough. Yes the lobby and exterior is nice, but once you get in the elevator it is a whole different story. We stayed on sixth floor king room with a courtyard view. It was quiet, that is the only positive. My son crawled on the carpet for maybe five minutes and his knees, feet, and hands were BLACK from dirt. The ceiling was black from all the dust from a/c. There was hair in sink, toilet, tub, and countertop. I killed some suspicious bug on floor in bathroom. The only toiletry we had was lotion. Front desk staff never answered phone, had to go downstairs and get shampoo(looked like they refilled the bottle). The valet staff were very friendly but 30 dollars to park? Come on! There are so many other hotels to stay in here in new Orleans that you should not waste your time here. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation! Truly a dump!

Great Hotel & Location

We stay in NOLA for our 37th anniverary recently. The hotel is great! Old, genteel, well cared for, all describe the Bourbon Orleans. The only fault I could find would be that the "bar" is a joke. We never found it open. We were told it opened at five. Not that there is a shortage of bars in the general area but being able to buy a beer to take out to the pool would have been nice. We had to go across street or up block for this. The restaurant is only open for breakfast. We ate there first morning and it was good and overpriced. Plenty of other more interesting places for breakfast or otherwise within a block or more. Noise from Bourbon was not an issue. We were there Tues-Sat and it definitely became more crowded by Thurs & Fri. Since the hotel is old (as is everything in the French Quarter) I guess the walls are thick as we heard nothing at all. Our room viewed the pool which was probably the best choice. Use the help on the concierge on staff, he is a wealth of great ideas and suggestions for restaurants and tours etc. I would definitely stay here again.
