Description: Our stay at the Carriage Hills Resort was what we needed at the end of summer, before going back to school to unwind and have some rest and relaxation time!!!. We spent a week in the last week of August 2010 and enjoyed our stay to our surprise. We did not know what to expect, but upon our arrival and our speedy and efficent check in and a quick glance of the surrondings we were put at ease.
Our unit was a studio as everythig was booked and it was situated on the third floor. The unit was clean, comfortable and was suitable for what we needed. The unit came equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, dishes, TV, DVD player and a kingsize bed. The bedding was quite modern and new, as well as the furniture and furnishings. Accompanying the unit is a small balcony area with a table and 2 chairs.
The resort is kept clean, neat and the grass, trees and flowers are looked after on a regular basis. The pool is indoor/outdoor, and could be a bit larger for the crowd. There is also a hot tub, sauna and kiddies pool. In the same building as the pool, upstairs is the gym overlooking the pool. One can also rent movies at $5.00 canadian each in the same building. The selection is limited but there are many good choices available.
Activities are in abundance at the Carriage Hills Resort, ATV tours, Adventure tours, Hiking, just to name a few, which we were interested in. We also visited the Shizen Spa at Horshoe Valley Resort and had a couples massage. The girls at the spa are very professional and friendly!!! We enjoyed the spa setting and felt relaxed and peaceful when we were finished.
Unfortunately our vacation was cut short and was unable to take in the many sights and attractions. We did visit a small restaurant about 10 minutes away, visited the mall in Barrie and did a bit of sightseeing and drives. The area is very peaceful and quiet and some of the homes are magnificant!!!. Oh by the way there are many golf courses!! but we since we are not golfers, we did not partake.
All in all our stay at Carriage Hills Resort was what we needed to end our summer. We would like to try it in the winter and see the beautiful scenery when the snow comes!!! I would recommend this resort to anyone!!!
