A March 2007 trip to Barrie by goaliedave

Weekend getaway to Barrie, Ontario.

Top luxury accommodations, both the one-bedroom and 'bachelor' suite units. Top quality bedrooms, mattresses, and furniture. TVs in each bedroom as well as in the living room. Great fireplace and appliances made our weekend getaway great.

There is an IGA grocery store 5 minutes away and a big refrigerator to store groceries, so you don't need to leave the unit. Of course the in-room hot tub is a big draw; it was nice to soak together with a glass of wine and a book.

Restaurant

This is what we typically call a roadhouse—like the Kelsey's, Casey's, Shoeless Joe's, etc. chain restaurants around Ontario. Family dining and good food that won't break the budget.

We had an unhurried conversation, with nice dessert and beer overlooking the scenic golf course at the resort.

Attraction | "Hiking the Trails"

A relaxing hiking trail with a few parts with hills that you need to be in shape for. Although you circle the resort grounds and golf corse, it is very private in most parts.
