Plan on Staying Again

I loved this boutique hotel experience. It was a pleasure staying for 5 days and every member of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was a great size with wonderful showers and storage space. I did not hear a peep and slept soundly. I also highly suggest dining at the restaurant Pazzo. It was by far the best meal to date. The only problem during my stay was in the business center where all the computers were down. I notified the front desk and they were on it immediately. Down the street, the Monoco hotel (a Kimpton property as well) let us use their business center in the meantime. Top notch service!!

A room with a view

The hotel was very nice over all. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very large, clean, and nicely appointed. the hotel is in a great location. It is within walking distance to many places of interest, such as the art museum and the waterfront. We also had front row seats to the Grand Floral Parade which ran right in front of the hotel. Now for the downside. We "upgraded" our room to a King superior/deluxe and were very disappointed to find that these rooms have NO windows, only a small skylight above the sofa. Despite the large size of the room we found it to be rather dark and claustrophobic. The front desk was very helpful in trying to get us a different room but due to the hotel being booked for the Rose Festival none were available for our entire stay, so we dealt with it. The room had a very well stocked "honor bar" with everything from snacks and wine to umbrellas but we could find no price list so the items remained untouched. We enjoyed the complimentary evening wine tastings and I enjoyed the morning coffee in the lobby once. I would have preferred a coffee maker in the room so that I could enjoy it in my pjs instead of having to get dressed and be presentable in the AM when I am on vacation. These complaints aside it was a very nice hotel and I would stay there again, just not in the same type of room.

Comfort, Style and a Perfect Location

Beautiful, clean, quiet, comfortable rooms; incredibly helpful staff; located in the heart of the city within walking distance of the best shopping and restaurants: it was so worth it. If you're on vacation and want to experience the best Portland has to offer, this is the place to stay. It may cost a bit more, but why risk losing sleep and being uncomfortable? We'll definitely stay here again. Oh, and if you stay, be sure to check out the bakery adjacent to the Pazzo Restaurant. Delicious!

We've stayed here twice in the past year and we've loved our time here; the people are very friendly and the restaurant is great(it was closed this time for Christmas)but we've stopped here and eaten on other trips to Portland...check out the bakery...love the bathroom, beds, towels and general attitude of the staff...also cool to see the pets even though we don't bring ours along, especially at Christmas, many of the dogs are dressed up. Also, piano player in lobby is a nice touch while we're playing Scrabble. Close to many other restaurants including City Grill(30th floor)which is delicious and has a fantastic city view.

Stayed twice - once in a Starlight Room, once in the Garden room. The Starlight room was fine, though I expected more of the ceiling to be windows! It wasn't particularly large, but was nicely furnished. Mostly had a view of the opposite building and not stars. The free valet parking was wonderful, though. The second stay, in the Garden room, was great! Very comfortable. Our own private hot tub on our own private lanai on the 9th floor - it doesn't get any better than that! Plenty of towels, and the hot tub was plenty hot. Also liked the fun animal print robes. Ate at the restaurant, and it was good - the grilled chicken salad I had for lunch was really nice, though the portions were pretty insanely large. My boyfriend and I found that sharing a meal made it just about perfect.
