Great locaton and staff

The only problem was that I had part of a suite. Conversation from under the door was audible. I think that we may have been the only people in that part of the floor if not the entire floor. If there had been more people, the noise would probably have been worse, as the space between the front door and floor looked wide.

Excellent experience. Hotel staff recommended a good seafood restaurant within walking distance of the hotel and made reservations. Comfortable; good sized bathroom. As others have said the parking fee is high, but being within good walking distance of shops, museums, restaurants is worth a lot. Fruit at breakfast in dining room very fresh.

A rather nice place to stay.

People were very friendly, especially *, who was one of the doormen. He helped us out on many occasions. Room was nice. The TV could have been a bit better, but was fine. The fitness room was clean and bigger than I expected. The bartenders at the restaurant/bar were really nice and had actually tried to food, so could make knowledgeable suggestions. And there is a great little parlor, just to the right of the lobby, which was great when waiting for cabs or family to pick us up. Unless something absolutely unpredictable and terrible happens, there should never be any disappointment if you stay there.

I'm not sure what caused those other reviewers to downgrade the hotel but I was impressed. This was not a typical Westin but felt more like a great little boutique hotel in the downtown area. Everyone, from the doorman, to the front desk clerk to the service staff in the restaurant were most attentive. We both got a great night's sleep and isn't that a big part of why you stay in a hotel? Also, loved the roomy bathroom with separate shower. the design and decor was very pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed with them in Sept. '08 and had the time of our life. It was our first trip to Portland and we can't say enough about how great our hotel was. They gave us a corner room with a gorgeous downtown view. The bed, shower and other amenities were top-notch. We felt like we should have paid a LOT more than we did for the service we received. The hotel really took care of us. They made sure we had directions for wherever we were headed, the valet always had our car ready to go and our room was spotless. The hotel restaurant is excellent, and the service was quick and friendly. The hotel staff really worked to ensure any questions we had were answered and our stay was a pleasant one. I will happily book this hotel again and don't hesitate to recommend it to others.
