Recently stayed here (2 nights) and loved it. We frequently visit Portland and usually stay at the Hilton (across the street) and ahd always wanted to stay here. On our recent visit the price was far and away better than the Hilton so we decided to book. I was so impressed. Keep in mind it is a historical boutique hotel so the rooms are not the largest by any means but the amenities and comfort more than made up (after all in a city like Portland you will spend very little time in your room). Everything from the choice of beds (feather or Tempurpedic), the great coffee and tea service - hot water pot with fresh tea leaves and a coffee press, the bathrooms are wonderful with back lit mirrors. The staff was soooo helpful. I just can't say enough. Oh, and the valet parking? Technically we were parked for a day and a half and we were only charged for one night. Fabulous.

The hotel accomodations, as always, were great. A very comfortable, small venue with excellent ammenities and friendly and helpful staff. One complaint: the hotel restaurant, which is usually excellent, served us an unfortunate meal on our arrival Easter Sunday evening. It was a bit of shock considering the "sticker price." Perhaps it had been a long, hard day and by dinner, the crew was played out. Poor service followed by food with too much salt, cold meat and overcooked vegetables. Ugh Everything else was just fine. What a contrast!

The Heathman Hotel was a treat to say the least. Staff seemed to love their jobs and despite the gloomy weather it was a hoppin' place. My daughter and I came from SLC,UT to see WICKED at the Keller Auditorium. The conceirge gave us excellent directions (and an umbrella) and it was a fabulous walk. We had a hard time finding a place to eat as it seemed downtown Portland kinda shuts down on Saturday and Sunday during the day. No worries! Eat at the Heathman! An incredible brunch menu with exotic mamosa's served by an eager, sharp staff.
Our room was quaint and cozy. Gorgeous decor with a charming touch and amazing down pillows and comforter that make you disappear into the bed. Tiny but efficient bathroom was so cool only drawback was the hair dryer. Bring your own. French Press Coffee and tea service was elegant and there was REAL cream! (and real coffee). I hit the over stuffed basket of goodies at midnight Saturday and found a big bag of delicious carmel corn...$4.00 perfect! The Oregonian newspaper was outside our door every morning.
We have friends who live in Portland and honestly we just wanted to invite them to our room because it was so homey and comfortable.
I can't wait to stay at The Heathman Hotel when I return to Portland to see Ian Anderson w/Jethro Tull in concert. Double class act!

Great location within walking distance to downtown area and Pearl District. Breakfast is excellent and the service at the front desk, restaurants and lounge were all great. I enjoyed the library to read and work. The rooms are well-designed and have comfortable beds and great amenities. The only slight negative was noise from the hallway because I was near an elevator. I would recommend requesting a room away from the elevator.
