Opulent Heaven

Opulent Heaven

I've stayed at the Venetian and the Venzia and have always had a great time. The borderline tacky lushness of the oversized rooms. But I loved the Palazzo which is a new part of the Venetian hotel. It has its own separate entrance, and restaurants but because its smaller and you don't have all of the guests from the Venizia and Venetian towers vieing for the same amenities it has a smaller more intimate feel to it.

The furnishings are still plush and luxurious but not as over the top as the sister properties and called to preference for cleaner lines. And you still get all of the great amenities to use like the Canyon Ranch Spa with its 40 ft rock climbing wall. The Palazzo also has its own set of pools and a second outpost of Grand Lux.

The rooms themselves are done in shades of gold and deep reds with italian furniture at a high gloss. Gone are the drapings of their sister property the beds with a padded headboard in champagne gold. There are three LCD tv's throughout the suite one in the sunken living room, bedroom and one in the bathroom and the living room has a DVD player

When you are done lolling around in your suite you can go downstairs and wander the shops everything from Victorias Secret to Barney New York. Then head over to Canyon Ranch for lunch and a spa treatment. For a snack pick up some fresh baked cookies at Grand Lux and then party at Tso later that evening. If you wanted you could spend a day or two just exploring the Venetian property

When you are done exploring the Venetian and all it has to offer the Fashion Mall is right down the street and you can continue to shop to your hearts content. They have also opened a Walgreens which is at the street level outside the Venetian where you can stock up on bottled water and snacks

I was treated like a second class guest since I arrived. Given bad or no information ignored by staff. And received no reply from management when told them about my complaints.

The Palazzo

The Palazzo

The Palazzo Hotel opened in December of 2007 which makes it one of the newest hotels on the Las Vegas strip at the moment. The Palazzo hotel is basically an expansion of The Venetian Hotel and they both connect through the Venetian’s Grand Canal shopping center and the Shoppes at the Palazzo.

One interesting movie tidbit that I discovered was that The Palazzo while under construction was used in an early scene in the movie Oceans Thirteen.

The Palazzo has more of a modern Italian theme rather than the old world charm of the Venetian Hotel. The Palazzo was designed with soft muted color tones on the inside giving it a sophisticated and elegant feeling. While this hotel has plenty of items giving it splashes of color such as their waterfalls and granite flooring medallions, it still at times feels too conventional. My favorite area of this hotel was the front lobby with the incredibly beautiful mirrored mural on their back wall and the fountain that shimmered underneath the clear glass dome.

Although we didn't stay at this hotel on this trip we thought it would be a fun place to try. They had plenty of shops and wonderful restaurants to choose from and everything inside this hotel was beautifully done. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay somewhere luxurious and wanted to be pampered.
