Great location for theatre goers

The hotel was very nice (39th floor), clean (except the glasses weren't) and extremely close to the Lunt Fontaine theatre and subway. I was a bit annoyed originally at not being able to check in until 4pm, but they were understanding and got us in at 1:30 or so. Only stayed 1 day for Lil Mermaid and it was great for my 5yr old. Room was bigger than others that I have stayed in in the area. Would stay again.

My wife and I were very please with our stay at the Millennium Hotel. We were greeted warmly when we checked-in and felt very comfortable in the surroundings. We were pleasantly surprised with our large hotel room (relative to other midtown hotels). We needed non-down filled pillows and ours were replaced promptly. A light was burned out in the bathroom. We reported this and it was replaced immediately. The hotel's central location cannot be beat. We were only steps away from Broadway and shopping. At the same time, we felt totally removed from the noise and action when we entered the hotel.
We were only bothered by a couple of things. One late evening we decided to relax in the bar, since the adjoining restaurant had already closed. After waiting about ten minutes for someone in the nearly empty bar to take our order, we left. It really seems that there should have been much better service in a place that was charging $10 - $15 per drink! Also, I think that it is hard to explain why many 3 and 4 star hotels still do not offer free Wi-Fi. It is even more difficult to understand why a first class hotel like this one does not provide a computer/printer that guests could use to print airline boarding passes. Instead, we had to pay for access in their computer center just to print our pass. Tacky.
Overall, we were very please with out stay at this hotel and would return.
Good Hotel; watch the attitude

I've stayed in four hotels on 44th Street in the Theatre District -- The Iroquois, The Algonquin, The City Hotel, and now the Broadway Millennium. The Millennium was the most comfortable -- with the largest rooms and bathrooms. This is unusual for Manhattan hotels in this price range -- most have tiny rooms and even smaller bathrooms. The location is top notch - half a block from Times Square -- close but not too close.
The only negative about the Millennium was some of the staff. The housekeepers are annoying -- knocking on your door every 20 minutes when they know darn well you're still in there. We go to NYC for the Broadway shows, so we're not out of the rooms by 9:30 every morning. One knock is fine but when they keep at it, it gets annoying. Worse was the arrogant guy at the desk when I told him the internet wasn't working. He treated me like a hick. No -- I didn't need to call the 1-800 number of the "separate company" that provides internet service. I know how to work it. And this wasn't working. I finally gave up and had no internet service in mid-town Manhattan for a whole week in this hotel. No big deal -- there are about 4300 Starbucks within walking distance -- but the attitude of this guy was problematic. He was also kind of a jack*** about the computerized snack system, noting again that it too was handled by "a different company."
I do recommend the Millennium, though: Very good rooms, comfort & location.
Ranking of theatre district hotels I've stayed in: (1) Millennium; (2) Algonquin (fabulous history & atmosphere); (3) City Hotel; (chic, cool but tiny); (4) Iroquois (small rooms, great staff). All good places.
Great Location/Lobby Problems

Great location; perfect for theater goers. Old fashioned hotelt luxury.
Lobby and front desk management was torture. Staff seemed frazzled and annoyed. Wait for checkin was awful. Baggage handling was disorganized.
I'll stay somewhere else on next trip, even though price was reasonable and the room was luxorious for the price. If you don't mind standing around in the lobby, this is a great spot. A-plus in every other way.
Reservation problems spoiled an otherwise acceptable visit

When I arrived at the Millennium Broadway after 10 hours of travelling, my stay began with being informed that my reservation (made through online travel website and paid in full in advance) had been cancelled. It took almost an hour before that was sorted out. Then I was given a room in a lower category than the one for which I had paid. That took another half hour to resolve. Despite the Manager personally receivng a confirmation from online travel website that I had a 3-night reservation, two days later I was informed that my reservation was over and that I had to check out a day early. The front desk person who "assisted" me assumed that I was wrong and had a bad attitude. Another manager had to go through the entire confirmation process again before I could have my room for the third night (for which I had paid in full in advance of arrival). That took another hour. On another note, room service was like the Keystone Cops--one cocktail took three return visits and the order still wasn't right.
