Description: This was our first stay at a Sofitel property and we enjoyed it immensely. Snagging a room larger than a broom closet, not reported to have bed bugs, strategically located and priced reasonably can be a tall order.
We stayed two nights and booked one of their Luxury King bedrooms. There was some confusion upon checking in which worked out to our favor, resulting in an upgraded room on one of the top floors. The hotel is very serene so concerns about noise, from traffic or a neighboring room, turned out to be a non issue.
The room appeared to be short on storage but built-ins done in handsome light wood afford plenty of storage. The bed and bedding are sumptuous but the real impression is made by the bathrooms at this property. They are large and done in luxurious materials. Toiletries by Hermes please the most discriminating traveler.
Although we only stayed two nights we did get a chance to have a drink at the hotel bar. It was nice and the drinks were expertly crafted but the bar was a bit nondescript for a luxury art deco inspired hotel.
I'd rather give this hotel a 4.5 star rating. One caveat at this property is that they run the bills through a European credit card processor so if you use a car that does not cover foreign transactions you'll pay extra. Thankfully we purchased our stay through a flash-sale provider and only had to pay a transaction charge on a local call.
