Hilton NYC

Overall, the Hilton NYC met, if not slightly exceeded my expectations. We had a double bed deluxe room. On the good side: great location, near lots of restaurants, shops, etc. The room and bathroom size was above average (deluxe room). We had a great rate via travel agency, so the value was very good. On the bad side: Check-in and check-out is slow, expect a line. Breakfast at the marketplace was good, but it is $27 per person and expect a long wait. Room service, even for a hotel, was incredibly expensive. Maid service was good; however, they had a habit of not knocking and just coming into the room while you were in it. Staff do not go out of their way to help you, but once you get their ear, they were often helpful.
The Hilton NYC has a baggage checkin area, which is good if you arrive too early or depart late ($3.50 per item - and they really do mean per item regardless of the size). While we did not use the gym, we did peek in. The fitness area was very large and looked quite good.

Hotel is centrally located to all the attractions, we walked just about everywhere. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. Did not use the room service because we hardly there. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I come back to new york.

Our stay at the Hilton New York was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, attractive and the beds very comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. This hotel was close to many attractions we wanted to vist -i.e. Rockefeller Plaza, 5th Avenue shops, St. Patrick Cathedral, Theatre District. We had a wonderful experience at the Hilton New York and will definitely stay there again!!

Location was in the middle of everything, but it's NYC, there's a LOT of walking to do. Concierge did everything we asked for (made/changed reservations, gave us directions to shopping, advice on traffic, etc.) Don't buy Broadway tickets from hotel, though---they make comission off their sales so, of course, clerks want to sell full-price tickets...go to Marriot Marquis for tickets. I was expecting a tiny room since so many reviews say Manhattan hotels are small, but I was more than delighted to find a very spacious hotel room. The lobby was also very impressive. Rooms were clean, bed was comfy and pillows were the softest ever!! I wouldn't stay here again only because I like exploring new hotels and I'd like to be closer to Times Square next time, but for a quiet stay, it was great.
