Romantic Get-Away

I am working in Northern California and my wife came out to visit with me for the weekend. Looking to find a nice hotel for weekend I checked Mr. Shatner's website to find a extremely reasonable rate for the weekend at the Lodge at Sonoma. The property presents well and is close enough to the square to be convenient but far enough away to avoid most of the traffic. The lobby sets the stage for the lodge with ambiance from the first step. The rooms have a functional layout with a quality furniture instead of the typical hotel furnishing. The bed was wonderfully comfy, the linens were top notch and the flat screen was a nice added touch. The bath had plenty of room for two but lacked jets. The amenities in the bath were spa quality. Our room overlooked the pool and allowed the aroma for the pool side grill to flood our room to add to our appetite. The pool staff was attentive and quick with service. Overall the stay was very nice and added to the romance of the weekend. The Lodge is highly recommended for a great get-away.

Wverything was perfect!

I do not normally write reviews, but I just wanted to say that we REALLY enjoyed our stay; everything was just perfect - they have a great hotel. We live in SF and decided to get away for the weekend and they made us feel like royalty. We checked in a little early and had time to check out the hotel and enjoy the spa a little before our massages. We did the couples 80-minute massage...so good. V at the spa was very welcoming and just about made me fall asleep (I was a little upset it had to end). The rooms are wonderful and we had a great cottage with a view of the pool from our deck. It?s great that they use the same high-end soaps and lotions as they sell in the spa so we had a chance to sample some of the products. We purchased a large bottle of the body wash and lotion. Also, the bartender in the restaurant was either extremely knowledgeable, or very well trained because he was pretty much perfect with his wine and cheese selections (that?s always nice). Seriously, everything was perfect. It really was exactly what we were looking for, and will definitely return?you cannot go wrong with this property.

Great location, however the resturant and bar did close early at the hotel and the conceirge seemed cluless. This hotel has great potential!

Room was not ready until after 4:00. Rooms neet refresh of paint and carpet, shower need remodel. Staff needs total retraining. Beds are comfortable and pool is clean and warm. Restaurant closes way too early. The lobby bar closed although 100 customers showed up! I even took pictures it was surreal. The management there must want to go out of business. My realitives in Sonoma believe that is the case. I would never stay there again due to the poor staff training and lack of interest in the customer.
