Our recent stay at The Lodge at Sonoma was nothing short of outstanding. We arrived a little early and at first were told that a room was not yet available, but as we were leaving to try for some lunch, we were called back and told that a room was located for us, and it was an upgrade! The grounds were quiet and clean, the pool was very well done with lots of cabana-like furniture and sun shades (we're from Seattle) and full food and beverage service on the pool deck. After dark the pool gets even better. The food at the attached Carnero's restaurant was great but not stuffy and they had an impressive wine list. The spa was cozy and the services were outstanding, while relaxing. Services at the spa also allowed the user full access to the spa grounds, a private area within the hotel grounds with soaking pools and cabanas as well as access to all the services you would expect of a four star facility. Well done Renaissance!!
