- This is one of the most fascinating cities in Morocco. The old town is a maze of narrow alleys while the new town has broad tree-lined boulevards. Both areas have restaurants and hotels but the larger places are in the new town. Here are some recommendations.

- Casablanca can be accurately described as a gateway from Europe to the Islamic World. I worked for a week here, alternately inhering to its European vicinage and venturing into the “real” Casablanca in my free time. It was a fascinating, unnerving journey through the wealth and indigence of Al Maghrib.

- Made famous by the movie that took its name, Casablanca boasts beautiful scenery, not just Rick's Cafe. Being a Muslim country, it is home to the world's third largest mosque, and, of course, all those white houses after which this city is named.
