Everything that they tell you about this place is true in some aspects. They just don't tell you that the place is actually a complete dump. The outside is atrocious and looks like a communist camp. Once you get in the lobby, you kind of wonder around looking for the reception desk. They are horrendously unknowledgeable and rude. All of that was intensified when we saw the room. Yikeeees!!! Thank GOD we stayed drunk and "dealt" with the roaches in our leftover pina coladas.
The food was HORRID at the resort. I lost some of those unwanted pounds by not eating the extremely unwanted food they had to offer. Puerto Vallarta is a BEAUTIFUL place to stay. It was my first time there, and I wasted it thinking I could save a little money. Well, that didn't happen. We had to take a taxi EVERYWHERE because that place is NOT centrally located at all. Look for a place on Playa Los Muertos, eat light in your room during the day, and buy alcohol in the liquor stores, because it is cheaper than tipping. Then place to spend $10 to $20 on an AWESOME meal from one of the many restaurants that are there. The all-inclusive thing is not a good idea. I should have drunk them into bankruptcy, but the liquor was cheap, cheap, CHEAP!!!
Please take my word for this! You will not regret what I tell you. When I read the things that people put on the Net, I thought, HELL, why don’t I check it out myself. Well, what it really became was a MAJOR disappointment. Please read other comments to see what I may have missed!
Have a great time in PV. The people are GREAT and the shopping is a blast; just stay closer to it so that you don’t spend all of your money on cab fare getting to downtown. Oh, if you’re gay, don’t even THINK about doing this. You have to go to the Romantica Zone. Don’t waste your time here at all!
