Would Definitely Stay there Again!

Loved it! Great location and very spacious. Decor can be described as a bit 'rustic 70s' with a few updates. Only complaint is that the curtains were covered with dust. I complained about a stain on one of the blankets and within minutes the staff showed up to change it. Otherwise, very clean. Having 2 and 1/2 bathrooms was wonderful. The washer/dryer came in handy after hiking and swimming. We shopped at Basha's grocery, about 2 miles up the road and ate all breakfasts and some lunches and dinners at the place. They have a great gas bbq area in the middle of the complex. That helped cut costs. We went to the free breakfast information session and found it very helpful. One of the area tour guides gave an excellent presentation on what to do and where to eat in the area. He really helped us plan our week with all the info he provided. We took a Great Ventures bus tour to the Grand Canyon...expensive, but well worth it. The Arroyo Roble is in a prime location, just one short block uphill to Uptown Sedona shopping and restaurants and right near the free trolley stop that takes you further into town. We would definitely stay there again!

Arroyo Roble

We got this place as a timeshare exchange. It is located in the heart of downtown Sedona very close to shopping and places to eat.

It was nice and comfortable. The decor, I think, was a little outdated but the beds were very comfortable. The place was well stocked with the basic supplies. They had the new Memory Foam Mattresses. The view from the rooms where not great but at least we had a unit overlooking the pool, which my son loved. No views of the surrounding mountains an countryside.

Arroyo Roble

Arroyo Roble sits on Highway 89A, the main route between Sedona and Flagstaff on the banks of Oak Creek. Unfortunately, it sits down in a valley where one cannot see the Red Rocks except along the driveway. Very few units are actually on Oak Creek. Despite those limitations, the resort is very nice.

We were in Unit 1222, a townhouse in the middle of a group of eight. Parking is not convenient to it so you have to use a 10 minute unloading space in the driveway. The unit is two floors. It is rather dark at all times since the windows are only in the front and back and there are shade trees all around the unit.

You walk into a foyer which leads to the living room. You need to take two steps down into it. The furniture is rather sparse. There is a pullout couch, a table, 2 chairs, a TV on a huge entertainment center and a dining room table with 6 chairs. There is a gas fireplace which we did not use. Off the living room is one of three decks to the townhouse. The deck has a patio table and four chairs. They are just vinyl, no pads.

Off the foyer to the left are two steps down into the very small kitchen. For us, it was sufficient, but if there were 6 people in this place, I wouldn’t want to be doing any cooking. There is a stove, refrigerator, sink and disposal, and a dishwasher. In a closet off the kitchen there is a washer and dryer. Also, off the foyer on the left is a half bath. Up the stairs (narrow and steep) from the foyer are the two bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, two nightstands, a TV sitting area with a TV, two chairs, and a small table. There is also a gas fireplace in this room and another deck with two vinyl chairs, footrest and a small table. Off the master bedroom is a very nice bath with a marble whirlpool tub, a separate shower, toilet, and two sinks.

The other bedroom has two twin beds and a deck with two vinyl chairs. There is also a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. The absolute best part of the place is the three decks looking out to the courtyards and the parking lots. The units on the creek look out on to the creek. Ours, of course, did not. There is a clubhouse where the indoor/outdoor pool is located. There are also billiard tables and nautilus equipment rooms. On the creek, there is a patio with several barbecue grills and a wooden swing that faces the creek. They need more swings because that was everyone’s favorite thing to do.

The resort provides you a card which will get you 10% discount at several restaurants and shops throughout Sedona. This is great and we took advantage of it many times throughout our stay.

Best Things About the Resort:
The condo is perfectly appointed with two gas fireplaces, a large TV, a DVD player, and a modern kitchen. There is a large central fountain and several gas barbeques with picnic tables.

Resort Experience:
This is a well-kept, very clean, and quiet resort in the heart of uptown Sedona. It has beautiful grounds and private access to Oak Creek. It’s in a great location, as it’s just a walk to restaurants and stores.

The uptown shops.

Best Things About the Resort:
Even though it is older, they have kept it up. Everything was well maintained, and the sights from the resort alone were breathtaking.

Resort Experience:
Al at the front desk during the afternoon/evening took very good care of us. During the day, we were out and about. Red Rock Park was fabulous. Slide Rock we didn't get a chance to get to - we heard it was good, but take an old pair of swim shorts, because the rocks rip you up. There really isn't much nightlife, but plenty of nice places to get a drink and some good food. Grand Canyon was not far at all, and we did a day trip from the resort and ate in Flagstaff on the way back. It is beautiful and not humid at all. Each day was better than the previous. This is a definite place to go to.
