Description: This moderately-priced downtown Atlanta hotel is minutes from all major attractions. Guests can easily walk to such sights as the CNN Center, The World of Coca-Cola, the Centennial Olympic Park, Peachtree Street, and Atlanta Underground. It is located just a few minutes’ walk from the Five Points metro station for easy access to the Atlanta International Airport, Buckhead, and other distant sights.
While walking up to the hotel, with its well-manicured greenspace and brick tiling outside, under its massive canopy and into the lobby, I felt very happy to be in Atlanta. The hotel really exudes the charm and ambience you would expect when visiting this marvelous Southern city.
I was checked into my room on the 11th floor and was escorted by a friendly porter who made sure I was comfortable in the room before leaving, even setting the television to CNN for me. My room featured two huge queen beds with down comforters, nice, soft pillows, a large desk with chair, armoire with television, and a large bathroom with tons of free toiletries. Extra bedding was available in the small closet, and there was a small nightlight in the bathroom, perfect for setting the room to be dark but not too dark.
Room service was available through many local restaurants, of which there were brochures in the room to order with. The hotel does not, however, have its own restaurant or in-house room service. My room had a stunning balcony, perfect for people-watching and witnessing a beautiful Georgia sunset. A view like this should cost hundreds of dollars more than I paid, and I consider it to be one of the best hotel secrets in the nation. It also provided some cool breezes into the room on a hot afternoon.
The room was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Cherry wood seemed to be the decor of choice in the room. There was ample space in the room, perhaps enough to slow dance comfortably. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families with children, as well as to business travelers. It’s simply a great place to veg out and relax while enjoying your vacation. Free Internet service is available in-room, as well as in the lobby computer room (equipped with two computers as well as a printer).
A full breakfast is offered each morning, featuring some hot items like waffles, along with usual hotel staples like toast and jam. A full dining area with morning weather and news compliments your meal. The newspapers are provided for free, compliments of your stay at the hotel. Free shuttle transportation links the hotel with many attractions as well as the airport.
Rates run between $60 and $80 per night.
