paper walls

The hotel was quite nice from the outside, and upon entering it was very nice once you overlooked the construction. My only problem was that the walls must be made of paper because you could hear everything! I had to listen to the folks next to me at 7 am talking about magnifying glasses for half an hour! I could hear them open their suitcase the walls were so thin. It is such a shame because the hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly, but who wants to hear everything going on next door? I think I will pass on this hotel next time I am traveling through Atlanta.
Don't Use the Valet Parking or you could be sorry

Our double beds were very cramped and the A/C was so loud it woke me up everytime it came on. I am a pretty sound sleeper if this gives you any idea. Those things were tolerable. WHAT WAS NOT TOLERABLE is the valet scraped our new dodge charger on the ramp into the parking garage and the manager assured us they would take care of the damage. This car was dent and scratch free. We are the people who park in the back of a parking lot just so people won't park next to us. Marriott and their contract with Parking has declined our claim 3 times and told us on the phone that they deny all claims of this nature. So I have no idea what claims they actually pay. So if you don't want to risk your car being damaged I suggest you not book a room at this hotel. We WERE loyal Marriott reward customers and use Marriott hotel exclusively for our yearly Spring break Williamsburg Virginia trips. Marriott, if you are reading this I will revise all my reviews when the situation is rectified.

I agree with the 2 previous reviewers. All fhe elements are there for a 3 star hotel. The bathroom is slightly cramped. But the hotel is elegant and the staff are helpful and friendly. But I think the downtown hotels should make allowances for travelers who want to leave their cars in one place for their stay. It is an insult to us to have to pay that much just to accomodate our cars so that we can have peace of mind while we are there for a 2 or 3 day stay. Please give us a discount if we do not plan to move our cars!

First time in Atlanta went for a weekend. Hotel is fantastic the staff was friendly and curtious. Had great views from the middle floors overlooking cnn and centinial park. Very close to attractions took no more than 10minutes to get to most attractions. Beds were confortable. Only bad things were the $18 for parking and the area around it. lots of panhandlers especially in the park and the little plaza across the street from the hotel. The benches are pretty much beds to the homeless there all day long. Not so comfortable at all walking around at night.
