Great Experience

Arrived with my wife for a 3 day getaway in Nashville. First time staying at the Preston and would definately stay here again. The guest services staff is very courteous and went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. We asked about local restaurants and entertainment and they gave excellent recomendations. Room was furnished well and was clean with the exception of a cigarette burn in the sheet of the bed, room was "non smoking". Had a partial view of city from the room and the pool was open and maintained. Did not book room through ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE as the rate was the same as the hotel site but the tax was higher through ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE , first time I found this to be the case. Food at hotel average but everything else was top notch.

Web site no comparison to actual hotel. Terrible experience, noisy, decor from the 70's, hotel rooms with odor.

Would stay again

Very convenient location. It's 3 minutes away from the airport, 8 minutes from downtown, easy travel to the Opry and Hermitage etc. Hotel room was very comfortable and clean. Looks very upscale without the burdening price. Did eat at the hotel restaurant once. Once. I'll leave it at that, but there are plenty of places to go...just ask the front desk for suggestions and they'll send you off in the right direction with printed directions (nice touch). For a similar hotel in terms of quality, I've paid double the price before, so this one is a bargain.

A work in progress

Convenient Interstate access, easy to find. High rise building with great city view from the 10th floor. We asked for a room far from the downstairs lobby after reading other reviews that warned about the noise there. The front desk staff was friendly & didn't have any issues with this request during check-in. The lobby & front desk decor is ultra modern. The rest of the impression was not so mod & a let down after the impression you get from the outside & the lobby. The carpet in the room was well worn, sink stopped up, the bathroom door wouldn't shut right, hard to open, & the hallways were dark, dismal, looked aged & didn't reflect the modern tones of the lobby. We called the front desk to find out about shuttle or taxi service to Music Row. They said they'd call back with info & never did. Requested an extra towel since we had 3 staying in the room, tour over an hour to get. On this particular day, they had phone problems,The shuttle driver on the way there didn't utter a word to us,but I understand & excuse it because it was extremely early morning. We left the car overnight & the shuttle driver that took us back was friendly, courteous & easy to talk to.

Disappointed

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Preston for a weekend getaway. The staff was nice but the noise level during our first night was awful. The walls are very thin and we could hear doors slamming and people talking. There were young kids staying there also with a large group and we were put on the same floor as they were. We finally called the front desk to complain. After about 30 more minutes (now midnight) it was finally quiet. There is also no complimentary free breakfast and food was very expensive. One piece of strawberry cheesecake was $9 with tax. The decor was okay but you could tell that it was an older hotel with some cosmetic updates. We had a great time in Nashville but will not be staying at the Preston again....
