Great Location. Quiet

As a past resident of Austin i rarely stay downtown, but this hotel had everything we needed for a weekend business trip. Close to the convention center and entertainment on 6th st. The rooms were very quiet. The hotel overall lacked a feel of austin for some reason. Seemed a little generic to me. Did have a dirty area in the room that required cleaning on checkin and it was promtly attended to. Downstairs bar area and kitchen were open late which was a plus. Coffee shop in lobby also helpful. Moonshines bar/grill across the street is one of our favorite spots. Meetings were going on and the after hours security at the elevators was appreciated. The hilton overall was a quiet/pleasant stay in a good spot and a decent price.

Hurricane Evacuation

The Hotel staff was very accomidating to me, my husband, our 4 year old twins and two labs. Evacuating your home is extremely stressful, but the staff overall in this hotel bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and at ease. The pool was exceptional, and I am still trying to figute out how they kept it so cool in August on a rooftop in Austin. The service in the executive lounge allowed my husband an I to unwind while the staff fed the kids and watched Disney Movies with them. They knew exactly what the kids liked by the second day. The concierge service was great at reccommending kid friendly activities in the area. Zilker Park is just 3 miles away and even has a train ride by the lake. We may have to evacuate again this week due to Hurricane Ike, and we have already made our reservations at the Hilton Austin!

My husband and I wanted a nice place to have our wedding ann. and to start the trip off we wrecked our car. When we were dropped off at our hotel (the car was not driveable) we were met by a great staff that helped us to a beautiful room! The view was to die for. The staff sent us champagne..and we forgot all about the car accident, the location is great! We walked to sixth street and had a blast! The only downfall at all...was not being prepared we only packed casual clothes because we thought we would just want to go to sixth street....and when we got there we really would have liked to go to the lobby bar....we don't even like breakfeast...and the breakfeast was great..room service great...it is really an adult place in my opinon and i would not reccomend taking the kids there..R is great at the front desk!!

Weekend in Austin

We just spent the weekend in Austin to get away for a bit and this hotel was just what the doctor ordered. We were close enough to 6th Street to walk which was a huge plus. The beds were extremely comfortable and the modern decor throughout the hotel was fantastic. Everything was very clean and well kept and if felt like a brand new hotel. Loved it.

Excellent service from check in to check out. We had requested room with 2 queen size beds but were given 2 Doubles. Everything worked out but it was a little inconvenient. Just across the street from the Convention Centre which was perfect.
