- There's more to Salzburg than just Mozart and The Sound Of Music. The Baroque architecture and the surrounding lakes and mountains are equally dramatic.

- There’s a lot going for Salzburg. The hills are cool and green. The palaces, cathedrals and squares are as impressive as anywhere in Europe. And Mozart, who’s turned 250 this year, reigns supreme.

- Salzburg is most famous as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s place of birth. However,
it is also a very pretty city with lovely Baroque buildings. Many of the narrow alleys in the old town remind of medieval times. The beautiful natural setting offers relief from potential cultural overload.

- Salzburg is lovely located along the banks of the Salzach River. It is most
famous as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but its Baroque
architecture, mighty fortress, and lovely nature make it a popular destination
even for non-Mozart fans. Its lovely coffee shops are worth a journey too.

- Salzburg meant different things to myself, my sister, and my niece. I wanted to see the Salzkammergut area, Bea wanted to shop, and Tracey wanted to visit locales from the movie The Sound of Music. Fortunately we managed to do it all within our three-day visit.

- Although its claim to fame is as the birthplace of Mozart, this city has so much more to offer, like its internationally renowned baroque architecture and beautiful snow-capped countryside. Plus it has one of Europe’s most amazing fortresses and is home to Steigl beer!

- Austria's home town of baroque and the birthplace of the talented Mr. Mozart is picturesquely sheltered by surrounding mountains and straddles the Salzach River. On our visit, we looked past the Mozart and Sound of Music tourist attractions and found the wonders of an antique, alpine city.

- Salzburg certainly has “charm,” but “enchantment” is what possessed me. Beauty and history aren’t enough for a city to enchant: great, eccentric talent must haunt it. Ghosts of Mozart and the Hapsburg rulers revealed themselves to me in colorful detail and symphonies with “too many notes.”

- The city of Salzburg, Austria is famous for being the birthplace of Mozart and where the movie The Sound of Music was filmed. It is worth a day trip or more any time of the year.

- It was love at first sight. One look at the scenery and I was hooked. The mountains are breathtaking and the old city is so beautiful its hard to believe its real. Skaters, horses and friendly people make this a must see.
