A beautiful and very pleasant place to stay

My wife and I enjoyed 6 beautiful days at the Playa. The ocean view from our 4th floor room was fantastic, we slept with the door open at night. The staff were very courteous, friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious, we ate breakfast every morning at the pool. Our waiter was very nice and took care of our every need, he even knew where Puyallup, Washington was. Arranging our tours, the Canopy Tour, City Tour and Sunset Cruise was fast and easy at the concierge desk. Beachside service was fast and friendly for lunch, snacks and drinks. The only thing we were disappointed in was the Mexican Fiesta was cancelled because of not enough tickets sold. The tourism was down while we were there because of the flu scare. I'd recommend the Playa to anyone visiting Mazatlan, we plan on staying there every year.

we had an ocean view room on the top floor which was the best part. the view was amazing especially the view of deer island and the valentinos club at night. it is within walking distance of many restaurants and has a wonderful private beach. there are several night clubs within walking distance also. if you are looking for a nice place to relax and have fun at this is the right hotel for you. the cleaning staff was amazing and trustworthy. we left money and valuables on the tables and beds and was right there when we came back. there are many better places to eat than the hotel restaurant by the beach. our food was cold when we recieved it. try the Panama 2 blocks away they have a great menu at very reasonable prices. great hotel overall and definatley will stay again soon.

Great Place to stay.

We selected a room with a view to the beach. This was the best part of it. The private beach is lovely and clean. We usually got up about seven and went for a walk on the beach right away. Cleanliness was great with staff picking up the garbage left at the palapas. You can walk to restaurants located within half a block, great shopping for souvenirs and things you needed to spend time on the beach or at one of the three pools located in the hotel garden. Towels are available daily. Because of restaurants, such as the Panama, which is located two blocks from the hotel and has a great menu, the restaurant at the hotel was adequate. We loved the pools and the little restaurant by the main pool is handy. Maid and laundry service was outstanding. Will go back again and again. Tour service needs some improvement.

Nice Hotel, Great vacation

I took my 18 yr old daughter to Mazatlan for spring break. The Playa was a very nice hotel, clean, safe and in a great location at the beginningof the Golden Zone. There really were not any activities other than laying on the beach and being bombarded by the beach vendors. Once you get a little tan and have been there a few days they quickly moved on after a "no". There are tons of other activities around Mazatlan. Take the Pulmonias but negotiate your fare up front. There are tons of restaurants. The hotel is a little pricey. try Pancho's 1 block down on the beach, food is great and very reasonable. Panama's is one block to the left and one block to the right. Similar to Denny's, you can get more American food and prices are reasonable. if you like to fish do a day trip to lake El Salto at the Angler's Inn- first class all the way! makes for a long day but it is great bass fishing. The Bull fight is not for the feint of heart. Interesting, but very gory. Try a 4 wheeler trip, riding on the beach is a blast. Para sailing is awesome, but be careful on the takeoff, I broke my tailbone. Overall, Mazatlan is a great vacation and Playa was a good hotel. Not alot to do at hotel, but lay by the beach or pool. I would recommend it.

We Love The Playa Mazatlan

We Love The Playa Mazatlan

The first time we came to Mazatlan we stayed at the Playa, and overall we really enjoyed our stay. I realize there are little issues that arise, none of which we let ruin our vacation. We'll be going to Mazatlan on the 4th of March (2008) for our 7th time, and we'll be staying at the Playa again. We'll be in Mazatlan until the 15th and the ONLY reason we won't stay at the Playa the full time is that we have friends with a 2 bedroom unit in El Cid.

The grounds of the Playa are very well kept and all the restrooms on site are always clean. The beds are a little small for a tall person, and quite hard (I happen to like hard beds) which some people don't care for.

I feel a vaction is a time to relax and enjoy life, and I'll take life as it comes at me and enjoy all I can.

I would recommend the Playa...
