Good value hotel in good location

A medium size hotel, with personal, friendly staff. The location was very good, near the Zona Rosa and within easy walking distance of Centro Historico and the Zocalo. We (couple and 11yo son) booked a "prestige" room with two queen beds, and while it was a little on the small size, we were not disappointed overall. The room and the hotel in general were clean and well maintained. We felt very safe in the hotel and around the surrounding area. We were told that Internet was provided to guests for one hour per day, but it did not appear to be a problem to keep using the net for as long as you needed (note that the Internet was fairly slow). We booked a couple of tours through the hotel and they were well priced, with honest advice about the relative merits of booking a tour with a hotel taxi or through a tour company. While not usually a fan of eating in hotels, we had two dinners at Emporio due to returning late from tours, etc, and found the food to be very reasonable for both quality and price. Grea value for money and we would definitely return.

Great price, comfort, and location

The hotel was very clean, well designed and decorated, and comfortable. It's within walking distance to the Zona Rosa area and the Alameda park, where the Palacio de Bellas Artes sits. This is the second time I stay in this hotel and would do so again.

Great Deal in Mexico City

I stayed at Emporio Reforma for a week and had a very positive experience. Its located centrally in Mexico City's main street, Paseo de la Reforma and within walking distance of la Zona Rosa and a large mall. Its a short, cheap cab ride away from El Bosque de Chapultepec and the Historic Center. Its also along the route of the Turibus, the double decker tour bus that takes you all around the City. The hotel is clean and recently renovated. I stayed in the petite room which was smaller than I expected, the full size bed practically filled up the room. However, it was fine for one person and would be fine for two people who only plan on using the room to sleep in. The bathroom was large and had a jacuzzi bathtub. The staff were very accommodating though I didn't have a chance to try out their English speaking skills. I booked a tour through the hotel to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan which was reasonably priced and enjoyable. There's also a cafe and large restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant is pretty good, always filled with locals, and inexpensive. They have a great breakfast and lunch buffet where you can refuel before a day of sightseeing. There's also a business center where you have access to the internet. The Security is pretty good. They have a large staff and a doorman and person monitoring the elevators. Also, the neighborhood is very safe and frequently patrolled by the police. The drawbacks to the hotel is thats its oriented toward business travelers and as I already mentioned the size of the rooms. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again if I go back to Mexico City. You can't beat the price and quality.

We were at Emporio on vacation for for one week. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. Very knowledgable in answering all our questions. From day to day they remembered who we were and what we liked or needed. Treated us like royalty. We couldn't have asked for more from them. The room was excellent, very clean with a safe deposit box in the room where we stored our passports and extra cash. It made for easy access during our stay. Can't beat the location inbetween the Zona Rosa and Distrito Historico, right on the Reforma. We were able to walk to most anything we wanted down town (although some walks were rather long). One hour free internet access was nice to keep in touch with people in the U.S.A. Five stars doesn't do justice to this hotel - they probably deserved seven stars!

There is not better location or hotel that is better for the money in that area. The people in mex city refer to it as a 5 star. The staff was unbelievable, resourceful, kind, and helpful in any way. the whole hotel is clean and elegant, with jacuzzi tubs in all rooms and clean nice beds with plasmas in each room. the location is perfect, in a nice area. i lived in mexico city for two years and this is my favorite place to stay, quaint, colonial, not a huge hotel so you get all the attention you need. never waited in line for anything. Free 1 hour internet per day. ETC. you would be a fool to stay anywhere else.
