My husband and I visited Seattle for our son's wedding. Here's what we liked: *the spacious room made it easy for us to get dressed for the three days of wedding activities.
*the complimentary car & driver that dropped us off and picked us up from various venues during our 7 day visit.
*the accommodating front desk staff: advised on how to get our clothes steamed/pressed; on how and when to take a trip to Vancouver/Victoria; remembered to ask about the wedding, etc.
*the delicious meals a the Hunt Restaurant and the happy hour drinks & appetizers
*the live entertainment in the lounge area.
Beautiful venue, terrible management

We recently had our wedding and reception at the Sorrento Hotel. We felt it would be the perfect venue for a winter wedding - and it was. The furnishings and decor are lovely, and the views and terrace added a classy touch. However, the management of our wedding was terrible. From the beginning, they failed to communicate with us, not returning e-mails or phone calls. As our date approached, we had to literally barge our way in to see the space so we could get measurements for our florist because the management was unresponsive. We were not able to do a tasting until mere weeks before the wedding, and the food was not exceptional. We also faced what appeared utter incompetence. There was a surprise fee for the "toast" that we had to fight about, we were double-billed for rooms guests prepaid for through the internet, and guests were told they had to pay for parking even though we had prearranged for their valet parking. The management also told us our wedding decorations would be kept in a particular place and when it was time to decorate, they weren't where the hotel said they'd be! Our family spent 30 frantic minutes trying to find someone from the hotel to help locate the decorations; they were genuinely worried the wedding would start late because of it. Additionally, a family member had to go back into the kitchen to insure they saved our anniversary cake layer because the servers appeared uncertain when asked what they planned to do with it. Surprise, surprise; the next morning it was not in the refrigerator where he had placed it! It took them 15 minutes to find it after yet another fight. We would not recommend the Sorrento for your wedding.

My husband and I stayed at the Sorrento when our flights were cancelled leaving us in Seattle. Our Stay at the Sorrento was Excellent. The service really starts the minute your car arrives. They meet you with a smile and take care of everything. The room was inviting and very comfortable. We travel a lot and I would have to rate their pillows as the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Dinner at the Hunt club was great. Next time we come to Seattle I hope our schedules allow us to stay here longer.

The Sorrento is a lovely old dowager of a hotel, beautifully redone - with wonderful beds and nice accoutrements - but it is in the middle of nowhere in the hoospital district with no other resources than the hotel. We had a wonderful price - loved the bar but the happy hour food was disappointing (we are from Portland where the happy hours are sensational).
The staff was very accomodating and the town car helpful to go to the art museum - but we had to drive into downtown for good restaurants and the parking there was impossible. As I said, lovely hotel, lousy location!
Good visit
