Do NOT stay here!

  • January 10, 2008
  • Rated 1 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
Cigarette burns in bed sheets, toilet, bathtub and sink. No sauna, hot tub, microwave, refrigerator or HBO as advertised. Room NOT cleaned after first night's stay. "Fresh, deluxe" continental breakfast consisted of a tupperware full of Fruit Loops and packaged store-bought donuts. Yuck. Hotel was full (BCS game in town) so no hot water in late morning as hot water "ran out". Spend a few extra dollars and stay at a hotel in downtown...this neighborhood is terrible!

Convenient Location

Went on vacation to New Orleans and enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was conveniently located close to everything I wanted to see in New Orleans. It was only 1 mile from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. There was free parking. Nice clean rooms.

Best Western Patio Downtown

The Best Western is a couple of miles to the northwest of the French Quarter in a rather depressed section of town with little ambience and no nearby restaurants or bars. The hotel’s only saving grace is that it offers a free shuttle to the French Quarter, however you usually have to catch a cab back in the evenings since the shuttle doesn’t run very late and only makes two pickups a day. The hotel does have a rather small pool and a Jacuzzi, but your money is better spent at more traditional hotel like the French Quarter Courtyard or a classier high-rise hotel like the Marriott. The location of this hotel just stinks, but it’s cheap at about $70 per night. Stay here only if your budget keeps you from staying anywhere else.
